We stopped here on our way home from Shropshire. My husband had pate to start. Delicious homemade. The we had roast pork. Plenty of pork, nicely cooked vegetables and Yorkshire pudding. Friendly efficient staff nice clean restaurant. If we lived nearer we would return. Local ales served, I had one called Derek really good

Great menu, great food. Nice pub, modern, polite staff. Shame it's not closer to Preston! Our party had the chicken, chorizo and Monterey jack cheddar ciabatta, sweet chilli beef with roasted onion ciabatta and rump steak with red wine and peppercorn sauce.....lovely!

Recently refurbished, this establishment now hosts regular music events in their Barn building attached. Complete with own bar, very private for functions. Recently went to a funeral "wake" there and the buffet was superb, as were the staff and surroundings. Friends stayed overnight and were also very happy.

I have stayed previously at the Red Lion and have to warn anyone staying at weekends it can be rather noisy. My first stay there was wedding and the guests were outside the pub shouting and singing to the very early hours. Breakfast was included, continental style. My next stay was last Saturday. Booked in at 7pm £35 for a...

The pub of this place was a very nice place in a calm quite environment which is very clean and neat too. For a smaller town like that, it was a crowded place (which means that this place should be a good one). Once we go there after we got the first drink we were informed that they are not...

Popped in to this recently refurbished hostelry, for a quick bite. Pleasantly surprised at the range of menu and prices. Great value for a mid week lunch in very nice traditional pub surroundings. Waited a bit for the food, but realised why when a very large funeral party arrived and went to a private room. Despite this our order was...

Our reservation was made back in November 2015 but was phoned on the MORNING of check-in that we were double-booked leaving us no time to arrange anywhere else as it was the British Grand Prix weekend. Alternative accommodation was located across the road but was a double room with a four-poster bed unsuitable for our driver with medical problems who...

My son and I attended a retirement party on 8th July. I have never been in this pub/ hotel before. What a surprise, from the happy welcoming staff who genuinely want to make your visit a memorable occasion to the many different rooms to choose from. I stuck to my usual black stuff and Glen hit the real ale before...

We booked the newly refurbished function room " The Barns" at the Red Lion Hotel, for our wedding reception. We also had friends and family staying with us there as well. From start to finish everything was perfect. The bedrooms were ready on arrival ,and we were shown to them by a very cheery and helpful member of staff. The...

On the way home after visiting a sick relative in Kettering, called in on spec with the better half - both of us sorely in need of some food and a drink. Very clean and well presented with what looks like a much modernised interior and a bar of much glass and stainless steel. Very pleasant staff and quick, efficient...
