Visited with friends in September on the basis that The Maltsters was pet friendly - they were so that has earned one star. The steak meals were excellent value, that gained the second star. Therein the stars end - the rooms (very basic) are up two sets of very steep stairs which would challenge the most able bodied guests, not...

What a shame. The online promise looked good. Normally on a business trip we'd book a Premier Inn or something similar. But opted for this, well, mainly because there are no chain hotels in the area, but also because it might have made a nice change to get a lovely family/boutiquey kind of service. This was well below par. The...

We enjoyed lunch which was hot and served with personal care and attention in this deeply country location with warm stone houses along the wide grass fringed village street. Mine was hunter's chicken, which is kind of chicken breast served as though in a hamburger but not on a bun. Nice crunchy chips. The family were very energetic and busy...

we went to The Maltsters for dinner with some friends as we had been told the food was lovely. We ordered steak and we all agreed it was the best steak we have had in ages. The staff and Chef are really friendly, we would definitely return for another night out.

We have eaten here about a 6 mths ago &:food was very nice. Sadly, on a recent visit this week, the food was terrible. We ordered the buffalo burger, the burger was rubbery & dripping with grease, so much so that the bun was complete mush. Not only thay, the chips appeared to be old & re-fryed & were soft...

A great experience very relaxed like arriving home after a hectic day. food was very good and live entertainment on a Friday evening. Rooms clean and nicely furnished. we stayed in the family suite with nice big bathroom. personal service and breakfast cooked to your requirements. If we ever return to this area would definitely go stay there again.

We stayed for two nights to attend a family wedding - a party of 5 with 3 rooms. I had a room with my 2 year old son. To me service is key and we were not disappointed - the manager Kevin worked very hard at making sure we enjoyed our stay. A few examples - we had a meal...

Having been here a few times now, I have to say this place is one of my favourite pub, restaurants, I've always had a good meal, the steaks are always cooked just how I like them, and the ribs take some beating, in fact everything I've tried so far ( I'm working my way through the menu) has been lovely,...

Very welcoming lovely little inn. Service was amazing and friendly! Made our room late at night after only phoning and booking 30mins prior to arrival. Lovely breakfast, great value for money! Would love to come back and stay again. Thank you!! From the two desperate polo players!
