After surfing the web for a night away we stumbled across the star inn, Our room was so spacious with everything you need. Modern, clean and tidy. We stayed in suite 1. The food is delicious! Home made pizza (which are home made) and a prawn cocktail with a twist. There is a wait on food but this is stated...

And came across this gem. The staff were very friendly and welcomed you into there home , the rooms were tastefully and newly...

This was a really great pub and I would highly recommend it both for accommodation and for food. The owners were helpful and very welcoming and the rooms had all recently been refurbished to a really high standard and they are beautiful. We ate in the pub both nights and the food was excellent. A really lovely place.

Very good food and comfortable newly refurbished room. Apart from trivial matters such as omissions of cups and sugar in room. Plenty of storage in room but lacking in shower/ toilet room though this was immaculate and shower worked well. Probably just teething troubles would definitely recommend.

Management response:

Many thanks for your comments. When we first completed our renovation we were keen not to ruin the clean lines of the wet rooms we have created drilling lots of holes! We have provided small white units under the sink with a top for wash bags, a draw and basket for storage and feel this is enough for our guests...

Recent refurbishment has made for a very comfortable stay at the Star Inn. The welcome is warm and the food is very nice and good value for money. A stay here is highly recommended in an ideal location to explore N Yorkshire.

The Sun Inn is a beautiful in all aspects. It's very clean, fresh, whilst offering roaring, warm log fires. Along side is the well thought out menu, something for everyone. Having ordered the ribeye steaks, we, my husband and I were not disappointed. Where to start, good presentation, attention to flavour and cook as requested. A fabulous dinning experience, great...

The food is brilliant. There is a wide variety of choice on the modern menu, all of which is reasonably priced. We visit here every couple of weeks and could not recommend enough. There is always a lovely warm and welcoming atmosphere.
