I booked this Hotel for my wife's Birthday, what a disappointment. The Hotel is a lovely building but in dire need of some maintenance. The central heating did not work in our superior double room and when I complained I was offered other rooms but the heating was not working in those either. I was told that they were not... More

Thank you for your review, I am sorry your stay with us was marred by a temporary heating issue especially as it was a special occasion for you. We have our heating engineers attending to the problem at the moment but of course that does not make up for your disappointment. Please accept our sincere apologies. More

We stayed overnight after attending a wedding reception here. The hotel is located in the lovely village of Monk Fryston, which is midway between Leeds and York. My overall impression of the place is that it needs some work. The food, drink and service were all perfectly good but the interior needs a lick of paint at the very least.... More

We was going to the emmerdale tour and reserved this hotel online, when we arrived we had a superior room booked, well when we seen it i was shocked how outdated it was and for over £100 a night you expect a nice room, then they showed us the honeymoon suite and i was totally shocked that over £200 a night the condition... Thank you for your review, our lovely historic building (parts of which date back to the 13 century) is being refurbished over time and in places still needs sympathetic updating. We do have rooms in our more modern wing that have been fully refurbished recently and given a contemporary style which you might have been much happier with. Finally thank... More

What a welcome, professional but welcoming staff, two roaring fires .One with inglenook seating ,just the place to enjoy a post walk or pr dinner drink.Again a room in the older part of the hotel. Beautifully decorated and furnished, with that hint of history and things past. Enjoyed evening meal and... More

As seasoned travellers, we've experienced the best and the worst around the world. MFH hotel is above the average and exceeded our expectations. Impressive entrance to the grounds and the hotel. Nice olde worlde atmosphere inside. Bedrooms in the main block are spacious and comfortable. However, the star of the show is the restaurant. The food was outstanding and the... More

Thank you for your review, I am very pleased you enjoyed one of our popular murder mystery evenings. It was encouraging to learn of your appreciation of the challenges we face in maintaining a building that is over 600 years old in parts, nevertheless it's charm and character are priceless. More

Had a lovely stay whilst visiting York for the weekend. The hotel was perfect nice size room and really comfortable bed. The restaurant was fabulous and the food 5⭐️. Friendly staff. The grounds to the hotel were amazing especially the 12th C bridge with the paintings. Lovely walks. Would definitely recommend Monk Fryston.

Very remote hotel, nothing to do within walking distance. Restaurant is lovely and the hotel is stunning the bar is very welcoming and the staff are friendly.
