We chose to book the Summer deal of the 5 course tasting menu, deluxe room and breakfast for £189 for an anniversary weekend. The weekend we chose fell outside of the offer time period, but the staff at Goldsborough were very accommodating and allowed us to have the same offer on the dates that suited us. Communication leading up to...

It is just like staying at a stately home. We purchased a travelzoo voucher for £189. one night with a 5 course tasting menu and breakfast for two. The check in was friendly and informative and we were shown to our room. The lift to the second floor landed just outside our room (Wharton suite) and was noisy but as...

My wife and I recently spent a few days at Goldsborough hall for our anniversary. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel very welcome by all of the staff we met. I would highly recommend the tasting menu & the afternoon tea was one of the best we've ever had. One small point - I would have...

Stayed for 2 nights on a Travelzoo deal. The hall is very grand and full of antique furniture, oil paintings and family photos. It also has manicured gardens and is surrounded by lovely countryside. On arrival we were given a guided tour by the young man on reception who was very helpful throughout our stay. We were upgraded to a...

We do not give 5 stars very often but Goldsborough Hall certainly deserves them. This is a most delightful place. The Hall and grounds are excellent and the décor is outstanding. Both the taster menu dinner and breakfast were excellent in the splendid dining room. Our room was very well furnished and decorated and we appreciated the fresh fruit, flowers, fresh...

Located near the A1 in beautiful Yorkshire scenery has to be a bonus. This is a very grand building and maintained to the highest standard. Spacious lounge overlooking the grounds ,a large wood panelled library and superb dinning room all go to the making of a restful environment. The staff are pleasant and very professional. The food for us was...

This is to enjoy Edwardian elegance in the public rooms and quiet understated comfort in the bedrooms. It is a chance to be pampered at reasonable prices.Good food and good wines. The Orangery has recently opened for lunch and cream teas and the main restaurant is open in the evenings. The food is "modern" but classic at the same time...

We had booked into the hotel but were offered an upgrade the day before. We were happy to pay £50 extra to move up to a suite. The suite was wonderful with an 8ft four poster bed, large bathroom, 3 piece leather suite and even a dining table and 4 chairs. Wonderful views over the gardens. The décor was elegant...

Lovely hotel. Our room was very small just enough room to walk around the bed! We were woken every hour on the hour by a clock! The air conditioning didn't work it was far too hot. Wouldn't recommend at all for a 5* hotel I expect better. On check out the receptionist just said that's a shame!

The most comfortable midweek stay. Wonderful landscape, great staff & even a bit about the history of thoroughbred horses. Breakfast was great...and even managed a couple of bits of black pudding despite being a southerner :)

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Goldsborough Hall is a beautifully restored, privately owned stately home tucked away in the small village of Goldsborough, just off the A59 between Harrogate and the A1M. The 400yr old hall has had many residents through the years, being built for the high sheriff of Yorkshire, the last resting place of the eldest founding father to all thoroughbred horses and most famously the first family home of HRH Princess Mary, the aunt of our current Queen. ... more   less
