Stopped here for two nights during our Inn Travel walking foodie tour through Yorkshire. Awesome. The hotel was cozy, service was good, breakfast was great, dinner was amazing. I went with a friend, and it was good for that. Looks like it would have been even better for a romantic get away. We started our trip here, and the other...

Annual stay and very good too. Great service from the delightful ladies and bed perfect. Breakfast very fine and we dined extremely well . Haddock and venison went well and the bar is most relaxing. Sommelier very good.

We've stayed here before but decided to call for lunch as we were staying nearby in Helmsley. This place never fails to impress on all counts, location, service and quality of their fayre. Quite outstanding all round and we'll be back.

Stayed here a few days ago for work and my second stay in a few months. What stands out most is the great service from all staff I met. They go out of their way to help without having to ask. I've stayed in their smallest room and a nice sized four-poster - both were very comfortable with every thing...

Last minute booking, arrived to a warm welcome at a beautifully presented, comfortable set of rooms. Spotlessly clean, well thought out decor and furnishings - felt immediately at home! Pre dinner drinks served by an open fire with delicious canapés, chose the Market Menu which did not disappoint. Lovely waiting staff, polite without being stuffy. Slept well, had a morning...

I parked directly outside We had premeal (non alcoholic) drinks in a comfortable lounge We ate in the bar but that was fine as it was a lovely meal in genteel surroundings, with a log fire Good service Not cheap but worth every penny

Myself and my wife achieved a long held desire by recently staying overnight in the venue, rather than just attending for a bar lunch. During the numerous times we have visited previously, we had in our minds what it may be like to be a resident, and would the reality match our expectations. Our expectations were not only matched, but...

This place just ticks the boxes! Actually I'd been a guest in a party staying about a year before and was so impressed with the overall comfort and easy, efficient and friendly hospitality that I booked my own party of friends for dinner and an overnight stay. It's hard to give 5 stars but despite no dogs allowed in (understandable,...

As we were meeting a friend who lives at the other end of the county, we chose to have lunch at the Pheasant at Harome, which is about half way. I was really looking forward to our meal - some nice fine-dining, I thought - but it wasn't to be. The furnishing and decor at the Pheasant are really nice;...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Pheasant has arguably one of the most beautiful Country Hotel settings in North Yorkshire, over looking the duck pond in the picturesque village of Harome. Originally converted from what had been the blacksmith's shop, village shop and barns, the main part of the hotel offers one single and eleven double rooms, whilst in the sheltered courtyard are two suites, the Pheasant Suite and Plum Cottage, each with its own private entrance, two further family rooms which each have two bedrooms and the heated indoor swimming pool. The stylish and highly individual interiors - designed by Director Jacquie Pern - give the accommodation a homely and welcome feel, which continues throughout the public areas: the lounge, bar, conservatory, dining room and terrace, providing a variety of options of where to eat or enjoy a drink. The Pheasant has established a reputation for great food under the capable hands of Chef/Director Peter Neville. Residents and non-residents can choose from a wide range of menus, all taking advantage of the wealth of local, seasonal produce, including a fixed price daily Market Menu, the A la Carte, and a Tasting Menu with optional matched wine package. The Pheasant has been awarded Welcome to Yorkshire's "Small Hotel of the Year 2016". In 2014 The Pheasant was awarded the Yorkshire Life "Small but Special Accommodation" Award. The Hotel has recently been awarded Three AA Red Stars Inspectors' Choice Country House Hotel. Seasonal and special breaks are available throughout the year. ... more   less
