Stayed for one night in late Nov. Booked the previous day online for £78 for very comfy double room, despite being told on the phone that there was only one double room left (there were three available online) and it was £90!!! Olde Worlde pub, with lots of quirky character and very welcome log fire in the bar. Nice room... More

We stayed for one night. The bedroom was modern, comfortably furnished and of an adequate size. Theb athroom was hotel rather than pub standard. Breakfast was very good. All in all good value. We were able to have our dog with us, though had to eat with him in a small corner of a separate room (reasonable enough, we thought).... More

This review is a bit overdue to say the least but I'm using some unscheduled "downtime" to catch up on my reviewing! My wife and I stayed here back in August en route between Northumberland and Wales on the return leg of a two week motorcycle tour of the Scottish Borders, North East England and Wales. As it says in... More

My wife and I were starting out on a driving tour of Scotland. We rented a car at Liverpool airport and en route to Glasgow we took a side trip to Askrig and Aysgarth to see a bit of the countryside that the TV series "All Creatures Great & Small" was based in. We stayed overnight at the George and... More

I chose this old inn from others available on line and was very pleased with the choice -easy to find and to park. We had a comfortable room and enjoyed a really outstanding dinner in the restaurant - not cheap but very good quality and all imaginatively presented. The only negative was that the Mira shower was difficult to control.... More

We booked this hotel to attend a family wedding at nearby Bolton Castle. On arrival we were allocated room two. First impressions were that the room décor was a bit tired and a bit shabby. However the centrepiece of the room was a splendid four poster bed and the bathroom was large with a good shower and spotlessly clean. On... More

We stayed in the hotel early July and it appeared that the rooms had just been redecorated. The bedroom and bathroom were both excellent and the style was in keeping with the feel of the hotel. There was a new team (owners) and their efforts to please us were successful and greatly appreciated. Being in the older age group a... More

Landlord very friendly. Food very good. Decor was a bit tired and dated. Just needs fresh paint and wallpaper. Good location for walking and close to the Falls. Cooked breakfast was ok - have had better.

I stayed there for my first night in the UK after a 5000+ mile trip. Needless to say I was a bit tired and jet lagged. You never know what to expect when stepping inside some of these pubs but this was a great find. Decorated in a classic Dales pub style. Casual, welcoming. Eclectic collections on the walls. Fun....
