After another visit to see if there are any changes, there weren't, a lot cleaner than last but the food today was pathetic to say the least raw veg and a desert spoon of mash and half a Yorkshire! That is outrageous, that is the last chance, the staff don't care, in my opinion if they are that unhappy in...

My wife and I came for a visit in the first week of January 2017 as we were shopping and needed a quick bite to eat. The food was late, looked bleak and tasted the same. Recently a week ago once again we came to visit friends and they had complimented on how the service and food at the Royal...

Price - good Meals - apart from the cold carrot and coriander soup, quite good and tasty. Breakfast was nice. I understand there is a relief manager but the staff were helpful. Perhaps worth noting that I was the ONLY person eating so can't say if it was slow but the relief manager was very helpful. No cask beer that...

The royal is just a stones throw from where we live ,and we used to frequent it often for tea as a couple or as a family.but since it's take over the food is very poor as well is the service.the revamp though is just what it needed.if you like to wait a lifetime for food that is half cooked...

Clean, comfortable rooms. Was only here one night, and found it very good value. Wouldn't hesitate to return if I'm ever in the area again. Short walking distance to the town centre, and handy for the football ground.

We went for a meal here 3 weeks ago with friends. As we walked in there was an offer outside on the A-board, 2 steaks and wine for £20 (there were no specific time or dates listed). We found a table and went to order drinks at the bar. It took just over 15 minutes to get served for 2...

Spent a very nice Saturday night at The Royal in Scunthorpe. I am surprised at the last February review where someone said the rooms have not been refurbished. The smell of fresh paint was everywhere, including the rooms. Typical above a bar establishment well worth £45 a night. Scunthorpe is not for me, but had the hotel been transported to...

I stayed here only one night and then moved to other place! The place is deadly old! Someone wrote, that it has been renovated, but they renovated only pub - rooms remain the same! They are very old, dusty and the carpet smells awful! It seems they recently painted the walls in corridors, so you get the paint smell free...

After hearing about the refurbishment in the telegraph, me and my family decided to give the place a try, and we're glad that we did! The place has vastly improved since I last visited, the decor is beautiful, stylish and comfy. As soon as you step in the front doors you are welcomed into a friendly atmosphere with staff who...
