Had the carvery Wednesday lunch, best one yet, nice friendly staff, well worth a second visit, the price is very reasonable , all the meats were tender, and makes a difference when you get a normal sized plate

Me and my fiance were walking past the cocked hat after walking past it nearly everyday, we had seen a post on Facebook about midweek carvery so we thought we would give it a try. I'm glad we did.... We walked in through to the lounge where we ordered our drinks. We were greeted by a well dressed bar staff,...

The hotel is based on the outskirts of town and is on town of a public house. The staff seemed friendly enough. Although having the chef serving behind the bar doesn't look too inviting, (take the apron off!!). The menu is small but food seemed ok. A party of 12 of us ate here and the food came out quick...

I vistied the Cocked Hat & had fish & chips as my evening meal. The meal must rank as one of the worst that I have ever had. Over £6 pounds for what appeared to be frozen, griity chips, a small piece of fish that appeared to be from a freezer & a pile of mushy peas. No bread came...

Stayed here for a night due to a family wedding. There was NO toilet roll in any of the residents shared bathrooms. We had to grab some from the pub during the function. Beds very uncomfortable and noisy due to springs. The heating came on full blast around 3am waking us up. Won't be looking at staying here again. The...

From making the initial booking until leaving I could not find a single fault with this hotel. Carol & Keith really made me feel really welcome as soon as I stepped through the door. The large bedroom was very clean, warm and with plenty of storage space. The room was very quiet, even sleeping there through the day as I...

Friendly staff, great food and spacious comfortable rooms. This has been a great experience while working in the area. I would wholeheartedly recommend, and would definitely stay in again, if I'm ever in this neck of the woods.

We had been recommended to try the Cocked Hat and glad that we did. The rooms are clean, warm and very spacious… if you want a good nights sleep there is very little noise to disturb you during the night. The kitchen, bath and shower facilities are all clean, tidy and kept in good working order. FOOD WOW!! If you...

I recently had an unfortunate invitation to attend an evening function at this establishment. First I could not find the entrance to the function room and had to access it via a public bar. This was the first bad sign as I expected it to be very busy at a peak period on a Thursday evening. There were just 2...
