Good evening Elaine.
There are lots of lovely walks in and around the Thrussington area, its only a mile or two to nearby villages of Rearsby, Seagrave, Hoby or Brooksby. Brooksby Hall is often open to the public and was the home of former home of WW1s Admiral of the Fleet, Admiral Beatty the 1st Earl Beatty of the North Sea and Brooksby.
There is a Bus that stops in Thrussington Village approx one per hour during the day and travels between Leicester, Syston and Melton Mowbray.
However we do get quite good Taxi service from various companies based in the local area.
The nearest Train Station is located in the nearbyTown of Syston and only about 10 minutes away by Car.
Melton Mowbray Station is approx 15 min and Leicester and Loughborough both approx 25 min.
Hope this has been of some assistance.

The Star Inn 1744 is a Visit England 'four star' Country Inn located on the old Village Green in the centre of Thrussington village in Leicestershire in the heart of the English countryside, we are conveniently located one mile from the A46 'the old fosse way' the 2000 year old Roman Road still the route between the towns of Lincoln and Bath.
If you send me your email address and telephone number I can forward you more pictures.
We have 9 modern bedrooms (double or twin) all with full ensutite bathroom facilities, all our bedrooms are fitted to the same high standard but with slightly different layouts, we also have one ground floor room which provides better access.
The Star Inn has a traditional Bar featuring the original old oak beamed ceiling and an adjoining more contemporary Restaurant serving a modern English menu.
The Star Inn would be an ideal place to stay overnight on your roadtrip or as a base to visit the the wider area.
Hope this information helps.
