I had stayed at this hotel 12 months ago and the room allocated Then was excellent value for money. This stay we were allocated a small, cold and damp room with a tiny double bed with a stained headboard, a bathroom that needed ripping out with a shower that was useless. A kettle but no tea/coffee/sugar/milk and a window that...

Booked into the Royal Hotel on Saturday for an over night stay. Our room was clean and comfortable, staff very friendly especially reception. Breakfast was lovely plenty of choice. Our stay was really good value and we would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Just had a good weekend stay at the Royal. Staff were very friendly, room was clean and well heated, breakfast was also very good. Hotel is ideally located for going into Ashby, altogether good value for money.

Stayed here on a Saturday night with friends. Hotel was as expected and staff were very welcoming. Staff went above and beyond what was expected when contacting me to say my credit card was found in the car park, and returned it using next day delivery. Great customer service, thank you. Would book again if down in the area!

I stayed twice in this hotel. Old building, interior are ok as per money paid. The main issue is: There are single glazed windows, so outside traffic noise & rooms are very cold. Management starts centralized room heating after 8 pm ( in this winter months too, I never seen such kind of issues in any other hotel) & room...

This once beautiful property now very tired .... Peeling wallpaper, mandarin oranges in the breakfast offering....Such a pity as most of the staff really pleasant and helpful and the town if Ashby deserves a good hotel.

The hotel has been very grand in its day. It was the hospitality property of the grand spa back in the 19th century. But clearly no serious money has been spent on this place for many years. The car park is pot holed. The outside is crumbling. The inside is very sad. And the decor of the rooms is dirty...
