I didn’t know what to expect with this restaurant but was pleasantly surprised to find the food of a very high standard. I have lived in the area for 20 years but have never thought to visit! I will definitely be going back.

First visit to this lovely old country house last night. The food was excellent and was served in a very tranquil atmosphere. The prices for both food an wine were reasonable and we had a most enjoyable evening. Highly recommended.

We stayed here for three nights, and loved it. Our room had a spa bath and a sauna, absolute luxury! The room was clean and bright, with beautiful decor and a massive, incredibly comfortable bed. A kettle with an array of teas/coffee/hot chocolate and some biscuits is a familiar and welcome touch, as is the good quality toiletries in the...

The first time my husband & I visited Sykes Hotel, it was to attend a reception after a funeral. The room was nicely arranged & staff was helpful & friendly. The food was pretty typical light finger foods & looked & tasted to be heated up, rather than cooked from scratch. This was in 2012. Three years later, we took...

The bathroom had a sauna in , and was extremely spacious, the towels very very soft. The bed was very comfortable, blanket instead of duvet. We did have breakfast in the...

I had a good stay with some colleagues on a Wednesday night. My room was dated but pretty clean and the bed was very comfortable. The restaurant was busy but we were offered the same meal in the bar which was really good. The service wasn't bad but not as attentive as some of the other reviews allude to however...

My title says it all. Room clean and well appointed. Complimentary fruit available and an ice in room hospitality tray. Selection of bath products very nice. . Lunch menu beautifully cooked and presented. My companions ate lamb shank which was meltingly tender, veg cooked perfectly. I had chicken in a lovely mustardy Creasy stance with mushrooms. Went to Sykeside for a family meal to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries and was not disappointed. The food was fabulous and very well priced. Everyone enjoyed the meal choices. The staff were helpful and made sure we were well looked after even making something special for the youngest member of our family. Would highly recommend it for a meal or...
