I booked afternoon tea for my wife's birthday, 13th April. When I rang the hotel to make the reservation I was told that afternoon tea was only available between 12 - 2.00pm !!!! However as my wife wanted to go to The Higher Trapp, I reserved a table for 1.30pm. It was obvious that the three tier cake stand containing...

We went for a one night break with our dog. Lovely hotel in a great location which provided plenty of decent walks. Good food in a pleasant restaurant and first rate local beer in the bar. Excellent breakfast and really helpful staff. I had a problem with the electronic key (who doesn't?) and the hotel handyman came straight away with...

Had our wedding yesterday. The rooms, food and staff were excellent. There was nothing to worry about as they had everything in hand and kept us up to date on what would happen next. A memorable day for us all and all the guests were impressed as well.

Beautiful location. Good food in the restaurant and, though there were functions both evenings we stayed, the room was peaceful and comfortable. Staff were courteous and helpful. Breakfasts were first rate - recommend the full Lancashire breakfast to set you up for the day!
