Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed in the self catering barn and it was more than we could of asked for.
The layout and space is great, the underfloor heating throughout the full downstairs is a fantastic bonus and the cleanliness of the entire barn and the grounds is a credit to the owners.
No expense has been spared with the barn and everything in it and all the beds are extremely comfortable with good quality bedding.
The barn has everything you could need whether staying for a weekend, a week or longer, there are plenty of games, books, DVD's, a washing machine, fridge, freezer, microwave and fantastic oven, grill and hob.
The views are outstanding and we never tired from just looking of out of the window, whether downstairs or in one of the two bedrooms upstairs. I don't think I have been in a bedroom with such stunning views as the main bedroom.
The outdoor space at the back is a very well maintained lawn with a patio and outdoor table and chairs to use. Unfortuntely our long weekend was in the middle of a storm so we had not much more than strong winds and plenty of rain so we didn't get to use the outdoor space but we will certainly be booking to come again and hope to get to use this space.
There is plenty of free parking available on the drive and Ann's instructions will get you straight to the property.
The location couldn't get much more perfect, so close to the motorway and all local ammenities yet you feel a million miles away from day to day life.
The owners live in the house next to the barn, which is also a B&B, but we didn't once feel like this was a issue, infact I think we only saw them twice, when we nipped to the car, so it's nice to know that they are there should we need anything but they certainly don't impose on your stay.
I can't recommend Lowfield Barn enough and we look forward to returning soon.

The proprietor was friendly, helpful and a mine of useful information. The room was spacious. The location was easy to find, in the middle of the gorgeous countryside and very quiet.
The breakfast could not be faulted - Full English, Continental - you name it and you could have it.
There is also a first class restaurant 100yd up the road for an excellent evening meal. This is probably the best B&B we have stayed in and I can't recomment it highly enough

Stayed for 2 nights this weekend for my mums wedding and we could not recommend this place highly enough. The room was very spacious, huge bed and spotlessly clean. Lovely en-suite with large shower. Really nice touches like dainty china cups with saucers in the room and felt so much more charming than places we had stayed before. The breakfast was perfect and was great to have vegetarian options without feeling I was making a fuss! It is also in a very peaceful surrounding. Several of my family stayed at the self catering barn on the same grounds and can fully recommend that too. Very friendly hosts and will have to make an excuse to go back!

Visited here with my Girlfriend for a quick weekend away and neither of us have a single negative thing to say.

The hosts were polite and helpful, the room was large and heated nicely with the bed and pillows being very comfortable. The room and accommodation were spotless, the bathrooms were very modern with a large shower in our room, as well as the property being sat in beautiful grounds, and situated perfectly for a night out in Lancaster or Preston.

Breakfast was also fantastic with a lot of variety and all of it great quality. I can't believe this place is as cheap as it is, as we both agreed we would happily pay more for the room and service we received.

Gorgeous bnb. The room was lovely with lovely garden views. Everything was clean and tidy. Even little touches had been included with biscuits, bottled water, fresh milk etc and the breakfast was absolutely lovely!!
I would definitely recommended this place and return. xx

Stayed at Lowfield with my daughter and grandson during a recent visit to Lancaster to see my family. Lowfield is brilliantly located, just of J33 of the M6, and is set in its own grounds in Bay Horse. A beautiful building dating back to 1901,our room was spacious, comfortable and quiet. The beds were extremely comfy with a great choice of pillows. Bathroom was cavernous with a fantastic shower, and views to die for. Breakfast in the morning was truly fantastic, with so much choice that it was hard to make a choice! Anne and her hubby were brilliants hosts and made me realise that you you cant beat Northern hospitality. I cant recommened the Lowfield highly enough!

Perfectly located, we are currently in the Barn self catering. It’s just beautiful, with gorgeous views from every window. The Barn has everything you need and more. It is spotless, very very spacious and incredibly comfortable. All the mod cons are provided too, you really won’t want for anything. We could happily stay at least another week or two but sadly we have to leave.

A lovely place to stay, even during the tail-end of Storm Dennis.
Lovely hosts. Comfortable room, super bathroom. Real milk!!
Handy for Lancaster itself and particularly for Lancaster University, provided you have a car.
