This is my second stay at The Star & Eagle. The service was warm and friendly the first time and even better the second. So many small details were remembered from my first stay that were pre-empted this time to ensure my stay is really comfortable. The hotel itself is really welcoming and quaint with real character, the rooms are... More

We stayed here for a night in the four poster room, which was great. Really comfortable bed, nicely furnished room with loads of beams. If you wanted to be picky the bathroom decor needs updating, tiles etc, but didn't spoil the experience. The food is excellent, the Lamb house special is really very good. Service was excellent also, all very... More

We stayed over night here as a birthday treat and I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Everything about our stay was absolute perfection. The room was cosy and quaint. The staff could not do enough for us. We were made to feel so welcome. We forgot our toothpaste and the owner of the hotel ran out to get some... More

Perfect in a word. Stayed here with friends and we all agreed that we loved this hotel. Why? Because the food is superb, the staff can't do enough for you and the building is amazing. So quirky, Low oak beams, creaking floors. The building shouted ambience. Most definitely will stay here again, but for two nights next time. One of... More

I had dinner here with colleagues from 41 Cub (ex Round Table) - about 30 of us, and for a "mass catering" event I thoroughly enjoyed my meal which was expertly prepared and served, and cooked to perfection in excellent surroundings - the hotel is very old - and we were most comfortable. I can recommend the lamb which is... More

My partner and I stayed for 2 nights in this very quirky and interesting hotel. We really enjoyed the history, spooky passages and old English décor. We even had a view of the graveyard from our window. If you want all mod cons you are in the wrong place, but it was very comfortable, clean and snug. The staff were... More

Stayed here for 2 nights whilst visiting Kent. From the moment of arrival to departure the service and staff were excellent, nothing too much trouble. The combination of a centuries old Inn, an excellent restaurant, good beers and a comfy bedroom at reasonable prices made the stay worthwhile. Do not expect modern - this place has over 500 years of... More

There is only one word we can use to describe our stay for three days here - excellent! The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was clean and there were plenty of towels and toiletries. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and owners. Last but not least, the food was superb. We ate... More

Great staff shame about bedroom. We stayed in a room with 4 poster bed £160 Shame about the bathroom, I understand it is very old hotel but so was the bathroom! Carpet on the floor really? No,very unhygienic tiles cracked by taps, toilet pipes grubby, and you don't need old dried flowers in there. The radiator was very dusty and... More
