Just spent 3 nights in this lovely Inn/Hotel. The food/accommodation was great and overall the value seemed OK to me. It's a great location to visit various places in Kent and East Sussex. Perfect for a few days away.

My lady and I decided to spend our hard earned cash in sunny England instead of going abroad this year and what a wonderful place to start by eating and sleeping at the Star and Eagle , the room with the four poster bed is wonderful , the whole place takes you back to a time long gone from the... My husband and I rarely get date night's having a toddler and 3 other slightly older children. We chose The Star and Eagle in Goudhurst on Friday having driven past it many times and thinking how quintessentially Englishly enchanting it looked from the outside. We'd checked the menu online and were pleasantly surprised with the choice of some rather complex... More

Wonderful place to stay if you enjoy historical buildings service was excellent and food delicious. I did not even mind that someone else had the four poster room, as they are a passion of mine. My son and my husband and I shared the bathroom for rooms 6 and 7 which was nicely decorated. We would have no hesitation returning... More

The Star and Eagle is an attractive old traditional pub, very folksy, advertising ‘amazing food and delightful staff’. The staff are certainly friendly and helpful, but the young woman who greeted us didn’t speak very good English and had great difficulty understanding that we were not staying there and only wanted a meal. She showed us to a table in... More

Had a stay over night including a meal in the restaurant which was lovely followed by a great full breakfast in the morning. Wonderful old building with many redeeming features in a great location. Highly recommend staying here.

Lovely food, pretty good selection of small and large plates. A great place to stay if your looking for an authentic "Kentish" B&B, very old beamed rooms with stunnning four poster beds! Beautiful views from the back on the terrace and a great selection of wines and ales. Always a firm favourite with us

Awful steak baguette grisly and tough... Couldn't eat most of it and the salad was sad and dry. Possibly older than the building. I did complain at the time and said I didn't mind paying for the food but the chef should know about it. But I was told by the waitress that the chef said 'it was fine' nice... More

So sorry to read you had a bad experience here back in April having had one of our steak baguettes. You must be very annoyed about it since you have now posted this review once back in April on Star and Eagle Restaurant & Bar and now again in July on Star and Eagle Hotel. We are a family run...
