Appalling - we stayed 5 minutes and decided we could not cope with the smell - grubbiness - lack of welcome - dreadful state of the room. We forfeited the payment we had made and went elsewhere. The Star website is dishonest in the extreme. Avoid at all cost.

While our experience was not as horrendous as the others I have read today on tripadvisor, I agree that the place is an absolute hole, the decaying front door off the street didn't close even partially, and was left open to the elements, leaves and debris littered the filthy stair carpet, obvious smell of weed on the landing, room was...

To arrive at a pub where the beer is off and you are served with dirty glasses should have been the warning! To then be told there would be no breakfast should have been the second and that the credit card machine had failed should have done it! But no, I allowed myself to be duped by the stale smell...

Disgusting , dirty, filthy place, no towels, no milk, unsafe - trailing leads everywhere, could not raise any service despite pub appearing to have a lock in but the very worse thing was someone entering our room at 2am in the morning with keys and when spoken to they just run off. Aborted stay, the owners have not had the...

My wife, my sister-in=law and I rented two "en-suite" rooms for one night. When we found the place, its external appearance was off-putting - very grubby. But that may have been because oft he bad weather and road works nearby. Going through the front door we walked straight into the bar entered a world unseen outside some horror movie. A...

Booking.com refused to include my review and also have not bothered to respond to my email. This place needs closing down. Filthy carpets, dusty furniture. Electricals a fire hazard!! Front door to accommodation wouldn't shut so anyone could have walked in. Half of Breakfast in edible. Almost forgot to say ignorant landlady double booked our room and expected us to...

My God, I have never been so disgusted with a hotel. Faulty towers would have been better. Dirty, shabby, bathroom disgusting!! We went for breakfast the next morning , big dog lying at our feet, hairs in my breakfast and in my daughters, needless to say we didnt eat it. Packed our cases and went straight to the Marriot, we...

I booked this because it was cheaper than the hotels around the area. It's cheap for a reason. Upon entering the bar I felt intimidated by a few burly drunks at the bar, who were flirting and pawing the barmaid. After making myself known and asking where to park, there is NO on site parking. Or any parking near the...

I think the sign saying "probably the best b'n'b in the world" outside is ironic. The pub downstairs is horrible. It was dirty, dark, smelly and full of teenaged watching the football. No atmosphere whatsoever. When we turned up, they didn't have our reservation (even though I had a confirmation with me) and didn't seem to be at all bothered...

Stayed here before a triathlon. No parking and breakfast start late on Sunday (9am) so could not really judge the quality of this. Room ok, not sure it's worth £70.
