Very late arrival, but the reception was on the case for settling me in quickly; no opportunity to try the food or bar. Very good breakfast, served promptly in a rather lovely old room with lots to look at. Floral features outside made for a very pretty hotel.

When booking our rooms (4 rooms as there were 7 of us) and during our stay we found all the staff extremely courteous, friendly, and helpful. The food was excellent and the rooms clean and comfortable. The building dates back to the 13th century so there are uneven floors and lots of exposed beams but the rooms and bathrooms have...

We stayed one night at the George in Cranbrook and would have loved to remain. The hotel has charm and history in abundance. Queen Elizabeth I dined here and we were pretty thrilled to have dinner in this historic section of the building. We had two rooms in the old block over the dining room and were very comfortable (thanks...

My wife and I we stayed 3 nights in the George and we really liked the place. We had the room with a canopy bed. The room and the bathroom were clean and big. the only downside is, that the room is just in front of the street. During the night it was very quite, even with an open window....

We booked this hotel on the spur of the moment a) because it was my birthday and b) because our friend’s band was playing there. On arrival we had a lovely welcome from Jackie, who was kind enough to give us a choice of feature rooms, and took the trouble to show them both to us so we could decide....

We spent a couple of days in that nice historical, typical english hotel. Room looks modern and clean. All the staff is nice and welcoming. they have parking in the rear lot. The only spot in our stay was the inform kettle: was really dirt.... We also had dinner there, look for the review here on tripadvisor.

We stayed at the George last night and absolutely loved it. The staff were great, rooms comfortable and the food absolutely delicious. The chicken on the restaurant menu is outstanding - whatever they put in the gravy should be bottled and sold!! Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Needed a night away for my wife's birthday found this hotel by internet searching ... What a find?! Parking good, staff lovely, helpful and very accommodating. Room 6 spotless and very well appointed. Dinner in their restaurant was superb and the breakfast the next morning helped the hangover. Worth a visit and would definitely go back - ignore the other...
