First time on the island and dropped lucky with Caledon House. Great location, friendly staff, great room and the choices and quality of the breakfast was excellent. I will be back soon and will definitely stay here again.

We stayed at the Caledon last night for our anniversary. Amanda and Mark were both really friendly and helpful. The guesthouse is beautifully and elegantly decorated. We stayed in room number 3 which faces the main road but was very peaceful, also had a lovely view of the sea and was very bright and airy. The bed was extremely comfy...

Myself and my business partner spent one night at the guest house whilst visiting suppliers. The room was comfortable, clean and quiet with an excellent view of the Solent. Our hosts were friendly, helpful and attentive and made us feel very welcome. The Full English breakfast the next morning was a life saver after a few too many drinks the...

The Caledon is a first class, well run guest house. The friendly owners could not do enough for us and appeared very happy in their work. Their choice of décor for The Caledon is spot on and provided us with a warm welcoming base on a rainy weekend in Cowes. Our en-suite room had good views over the Solent, it...

I am an american and grew up going to B&B's in Cape May New Jersey. The food was amazing, specifically the English breakfast with IOW produce, wonderful sausages, real bacon, amazing mushrooms and smoked salmon with poached eggs. The rooms were clean and the upper floors have a wonderful view of the sail boats on the Bay. The best part...

Have just returned from a two night stay at this guesthouse. We were very happy with it. Room was large and comfortably held our family of three and had the benefit of an ensuite. Not all rooms are ensuite though so need to be aware when booking if this is required. It was clean and decorated in a modern style....

Simply a great place to stay, super room very clean and tastefully decorated. A good location for a night in Cowes a ten minute walk. The owner Mark is most accommodating and efficient and was particularly helpful when our ferry was cancelled. Breakfast was very good and efficiently served. We would return here.

I have an instinctive and visceral horror of independent hotels and B&Bs. You are immediately thrust into the owners' own eccentric view of how guests should behave in their house, and how they should behave towards you. Too often this involves them having an extremely high opinion of their own chintz-laden version of Norman Bates' mother's bedroom, and expecting you...
