Over the last few weeks I have stay here for 2 nights on 3 occasions. Unfortunately my end client has this hotel listed as their Preferred hotel in the area so my hands are somewhat tied when choosing a hotel. While the rooms are very dated, they are general clean and tidy, and ready when checking in. However, the "over...

Nice and easy to find, well signposted and large car park - great start; it's an old converted watermill (as the name suggests), it even still has the river running through the grounds that produced the power all those years ago. Disappointingly the restaurant was closed for refurbishment when I stayed, fair enough these things happen - but too many...

After searching for a last minute hotel booking,I found via Hotels.com,The Watermill in Bourne End just a few miles out of Hemel Hempstead town centre. I knew of it before as used to pass it quite often when I lived there. I think it used to be owned by The Best Western group. It is built around an old working...

Although I phoned in advance to request vegetarian breakfast and was told 'yes', when we got there we were basically told that vegetarian breakfast was essentially the breakfast without the meat bits. How hard is it to have a packet of Linda McCartney sausages in the freezer? Asking for soya milk for our cereal, we had to open handfuls of...

Stayed here for the night after a wedding in the local area. A pleasant enough stay, the rooms are dated as is the accommodation blocks and the fold up bed provided to make a normal room into a 'family' room which we originally booked was pretty uncomfortable to say the least. However the night was mostly peaceful (always a bonus)...

The Watermill Hotel was reasonably priced. Parking was good. On arrival we were checked in but when we got to our room it was still being cleaned. We were checked into another room and it was still being cleaned as well. The cleaning staff showed us into another room that they had cleaned. 3rd time lucky! The room was comfortable...

Although we have visited this hotel for New Year's Eve on two other occasions, we were appalled by the service we were offered on this occasion. Although the hotel rooms were still of a fairly good standard, the food was badly cooked and mostly inedible. The hotel had a large wedding on the same night and, in our opinion, should...

We stayed in a group of rooms called The Meadows, and access was made from the outside which consisted of a row of doors. Rooms need some modernization but everything was spotless. The radiator was efficient but very noisy. The plug in the bathroom sink had no release to empty it but apart from minor issues a good night was...

Had an amazing relaxed afternoon tea. Sandwiches had tasty fillings and there were enough for all. Cakes were lovely too. The best thing was we were left to chat and enjoy ourselves and ended up staying for over 3 hours. The lady on the front was amazing and nothing was too much trouble she filled the tea up whenever we...
