Visited Lyndhurst for family weekend. Youngest daughter was desperate to have lasagne for dinner, but we didn't really fancy the usual pizza/pasta places. Walked past The Stag Hotel, which we had decided against on previous visits (don't recall why), and there was lasagne on the children's menu. Youngest daughter therefore very happy. When we went back in the evening for...

Very warm and welcoming. Every aspect of our roasts were lovely. Fantastic roasties, very tasty gravy EXCEPT the meat, dry and overcooked. When we complained they couldn't be more helpful. Chose to visit this time of year because we knew it would be quiet. Absolutely manic later in the year

We arrived on a stormy wet night and were greeted warmly and quickly shown to our room, which was large, clean and comfortable. The room was quite cold, but this was quickly resolved, and a bit old fashioned, but that didn't bother us at all. We enjoyed an excellent bar meal - the home made pies were terrific, meaty and...

We visited this pub for a light lunch, it was warm and welcoming, and the staff were young, friendly and efficient. The menu was varied, without being extensive, and the prices and portions were good. They also offer accommodation. Make this pub one of your festive places to visit. You won't be disappointed!

Well run hotel - not a chain - with convenient car park and welcoming atmosphere and helpful staff. This is a good location for the New Forest. Dogs not allowed in rooms but allowed on bar. Food good and menu not too ambitious.

We were spending the weekend in Lyndhurst and popped in here twice for a drink. There is a large restaurant and the food looked good. It had a pleasant atmosphere and seemed very popular with the locals. The prices were about average.

A family group of us needed accommodation as my daughter had booked a local village hall for her wedding reception. The staff at The Stag were very helpful, and the rooms we had booked were clean and comfortable. An excellent breakfast following the celebrations and then we eventually went our separate ways. No problems anywhere and everyone was very pleasant....

Primarily this is a high street pub with a large restaurant and about 12 or so guest rooms. Ample parking is at the rear. I spent a night here because I wanted to be in the heart of the New Forest for dawn. My huge twin room with equally large bathroom was at the top of the building on what...
