Detailed Reviews
I was very pleasantly surprised. The hotel was nice with plenty of parking. The staff were friendly and helpful. the room was nice, and clean, with good air conditioning and coffee/tea making facilities. Breakfast was included (all buffet style) and was ok. Unfortunately I don't eat scrambled eggs so would have preferred fried or poached eggs. Also I don't eat pork sausages or bacon so a veggie option would have been nice. There also should have been notices asking people not to pick up the bread or pastries with their fingers.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Braintree three times during our visit to the UK. We were particularly impressed by Kinliegh who seemed to be here, there and everywhere but still had time for the guests. Two observations, the temp controller in room 143 wasn't responding to altered settings and displaying an error message. The breakfast room seems inadequate for the number of guests compared to other Holiday Inn's, It's something we also noticed from a previous stay in 2016.

We stayed here as a family of 4 in two rooms. We were greeted by a very friendly lady on check-in. Both our rooms were on the ground floor at the side of the hotel which were very quiet.
The air conditioning in each room was easy to control, which allowed us to keep the rooms at a temperature which was just right for us.
Both rooms were immaculate, with Tea & Coffee making facilities (Could have done with some biscuits though!!).
The shower was powerful, which was a pleasant surprise, as that isn’t always the case in hotels.
The beds were very comfortable also.
We had breakfast included, and there was a good selection, which was well cooked. My wife has coeliac disease, and the Gluten Free selection was also good, complete with separate toaster and Gluten-Free bread.
Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel, as staff, food & accommodation was faultless!

Stayed here on business and check in was really quick, great location in Braintree just off the A120 with the designer Village about 10 minutes away and Stansted Airport about 20 minutes away.
Really clean room and breakfast included the following morning.
The hotel does have a small menu if you fancy eating here but you have the choice of the Toby Carvery next to the hotel.
Book in advance as it’s extremely busy around 6pm-7.30pm.

Very friendly staff. Well appointed room. Clean linen and towels. One gripe was that we were staying for 2 days and had to ask for fresh towels and tea etc for the second day. Extra pillows were requested and given.
Breakfast was a little confusing, did we queue or just dive in? We followed the crowd and dived in. ;-)
All in all, it was a comfortable stay and I would highly recommend this hotel. Certainly, I'd go there again.

I stay at this hotel on a regular basis and it’s pure excellence.
I have just stayed here for 3 nights and it’s in a fantastic location next to the A120 with services near by and a local pub.
Julie and her team are absolutely amazing and so professional, it’s an absolute pleasure to stay here.
The rooms are a great size with really comfortable beds, the restaurant/bar area really chilled out and also free parking.
Highly recommend this hotel if working or visiting the Essex area.

It was my first stay at a Holiday Inn Express and I was very pleased with everything. The staff from check in to check out were all friendly and engaging whilst giving excellent customer service.
The ground floor room was as expected, clean, well proportioned, had very comfy beds, good bathroom and storage for short stays. The reception area and adjacent bar/dining area were bright and welcoming. The Breakfast buffet was varied enough to give a very good choice and from muffins to scrambled eggs looked fresh. I have previously only look at the purple group for short term accommodation...after this stay I will be looking at the Holiday Inn group first..

So impressed by this Travelodge. The room was a great size and we were given a room with a bath upon request. The breakfast was great quality and had lots of options. I would definitely return because I felt you got "what you paid for" and a little extra!
Friendly staff as well - always a bonus!!

Stayed here for a family wedding recently. Staff were really friendly and helpful, especially Sarah who really made our trip special even though they were short staffed and people were being unnecessarily rude to them. Sarah really went out of her way to make sure we were looked after, especially the younger children in our party. Thank you Sarah as you would be the reason we ever returned to Braintree. We have moved to the Kensington holiday inn for leg of our journey and staff are no way as helpful and rooms are incredibly small.

If the room is booked and paid for in advance then you shouldn’t have any problem who’s name it’s under. If you’re paying when you arrive then you’ll need a valid bank or credit card to pay for the room.
It’s about five ten minutes most around 10 quid
Bottled water is available to purchase from the reception desk or the vending machine. Room service is not provided, a small dinner menu is available from 6pm till 10pm every evening in the Great Room.
