Came here for a family meal on the famous Monday carvery night! Wow! The meat choices were oustanding but the side dishes really set this meal apart! And the building! Incredible! We sat near the bar and watched the locals come in, tip their hats and sit down for what is no doubt a regular Monday event!

It doesn't matter when you visit the middle house you can be guaranteed a friendly welcome with good food beer and a cheeky cocktail moscow mule is certainly worth trying . Their roasts are superb regardless of when you visit- not many places roast potatoes are as good as home.

Have just returned from a most enjoyable short stay at The Middle House Hotel which is a beautiful Tudor house with exposed wooden beams, wooden panelling, creaking floors and full of historic ambience yet the accommodation is very well appointed with good bathroom facilities and four poster beds in some rooms. Although described as a hotel it also serves as...

Drove a way to have a meal here. The high street was parked both sides so had to use their carpark. Met a large 4x4 on way in who wouldn't reverse, so I had to back onto the main road. Told at the bar, that it was only carvery and a few specials. Nothing on the board so had to...

Middle House is a charming pub in the beautiful village of Mayfield. Our first visit here, but it will not be our last. We were rather boring all going for Sunday Roast, the Lamb, Pork and Beef were quality meats, and the accompanying vegetable selection served seperately were also very nice. The roast potatoes were to die for certainly the...

Had a wonderful lunch with friends today in the garden. The food was wonderful, many the puds are to die for. Some renovation gong on to extend the garden room which will be wonderful when finished. It did not disturb us. Thoroughly recommend the wonderful food.

We stayed here for one night during a short break to Sussex. The room was good , the welcome warm, the parking easy and the garden large. We would have preferred the normal menu but Monday night is carvery and very popular with locals. This means no restaurant service but non meat meals were available to order in the bar.

Having recently stayed in London it was a breath of fresh air to stay in this friendly Inn while on a trip from Australia. The rooms were clean and the beds extremely comfortable. Furthermore, the rooms were well appointed and the breakfast was excellent. The carvery on a Monday was delicious and the entire environment was relaxing to stay in,...
