We took the room at the back for 26 people and had a wonderful lunch. Great service, delicious food and wine and the efficient and friendly staff helped make it a hugely successful event. Highly recommend a visit.

We had just been for a long walk in the Ashdown Forest with our three small children and were looking for somewhere to have a nice rest and Sunday lunch. We hadn't booked and knew that pubs in the area can get pretty busy so I just popped in to check availablity whilst the rest of the family waited in...

Husband and I visited the Anchor early October 15. Love the pub, the food and my favourite bit the massive comfortable bed. Staff lovely and obliging. Lovely 14th century building. Old beams. Dogs allowed in the bar. Nice beer. Good gin. Very tasty food. Can't rate it any higher. Going back early December

I recently stayed at the Anchor Inn, and what a delight it was. Great location, Hartfield is the home of Winnie Pooh, with a Pooh shop selling memorabilia, great walks. Visit seven acre woods and Poohs bridge, a story tale come true for children. The Inn itself has a warm, friendly atmosphere. James, the proprietor, and the staff are all...

Four friends visiting this lovely particular East Sussex visiting Winnie the Pooh country. The B&B facilities very good bed comfortable and tea and coffee in the room. The breakfast was very tasty we couldn't eat it all. Very good value for money. We also had a meal there the previous evening and food and service was excellent.

Visited today (30/06/15) and had the cheese and bacon burger which was outstanding! The onion rings which are served alongside are the best I have ever eaten! Great food, great service, great pub! Will return!
