Arrived mid afternoon to our suite and it was freezing cold. There were 3 large radiators but only 1 was hot and the other 2 were tepid. No thermostats on the radiators or covers on the valves so we could not open the valves to increase the heat. The room thermostat implied the temperature was only 10 degrees. Complained at...

Plenty of positives to this place, especially the staff who were friendly and helpful. However the quality of the rooms & amenities are not worthy of the price tag. Cold showers, a lifeless bar area & a bleak restaurant were not welcome additions to our weekend, The hotel is pretty and lies some distance from the centre of Battle, you...

We stayed at the powder mills hotel on the 5th of November this year, it was a beautiful hotel, surrounded by lakes with ducks and peacocks. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were lovely with a lot of character, our room was lovely and warm and very clean, the bed was very comfortable and the pillows were...

Gorgeous hotel, perfect for anything from afternoon tea all the way to wedding venues. Lovely staff and beautiful grounds and just a 15 minute walk through the woods into Battle town center. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, even the Queen.

We attended a Ladies weekend 21/10/16. when checking in was asked for credit card as per usual and strangely what we would like to choose for dinner. Dinner in restaurant was not bad. Found rooms needed a good clean. cobwebs on table lamps and in corners of room had been there a long time. Bathroom could have done with a...

Thank you for your review, we are sorry you felt things were not to your liking and the misunderstanding regarding the way the nominal £1.00 deductions are made from pre-authorised credit card was communicated to you. We did attempt to explain this at the time and by telephone later, that this credit or debit card authorisation method is a very...

After reading some mixed reviews on the food i was a little aprehensive about our meal. When we arrived the orangery was very quiet but later on in the evening the atmosphere improved as it got a little busier - understable for a sunday evening. The menu had lots of choice and an option for everyone. I had pumkin soup,...

Stopped over for coffee and to enquire about accommodation for a large event. Found staff very accommodating and helpful. We were shown various rooms all of which looked stunning. The 150 acres of grounds, lake, ponds and woodland offer a wonderful setting for a break not too far from Battle. It also looked an ideal setting for a wedding and...

We have stayed at Powdermills usually for the events in Battle and we love it as it is so relaxing and peaceful. The bedrooms are all different; there are rooms in the older part of the house and there are new rooms in the newly built part of the hotel. I like the fact that you can take your dog...

We used this hotel as a base for a weekend at the Battle of Hastings 950th anniversary reenactment. A great setting, being on the edge of the battlefield itself. The staff were very welcoming and helpful, particularly as I was using crutches. We had a room in the Cloisters, which was very comfortable and clean, with a pull down bed...
