We had a friendly welcome on arrival and shown our rooms. Good sized rooms and nice choice of breakfast. Right on the main street of Battle. We had one room on the front which had a view of the town and one on the back overlooking the old buildings.

A delightful old pub come b&b. Situated on the busy main road leading past the ancient Abbey. Friendly landlady and somewhat rustic but comfortable bedrooms. My room was on the side, which was exceptionally quiet. Probably worth avoiding rooms at the front which overlook the narrow main road. Typical pub grub make up the restaurant menu. Portions a little on...

Very good welcome & shown to my room quickly. Harvey's beer was excellent & well served. Busy bar but service good. Had fish & chips for evening meal, would have liked mushy peas as an option. Full English breakfast was top draw & set me up for the day. Overall very good value.

The Bull Inn was a stopover for a wedding the following day. The beds were clean and comfortable and we spent a good night there. The staff were friendly and efficient and we enjoyed our evening meal. The following morning there was a large substantial breakfast awaiting us, cooked by Allan. No problems whatever! Parked overnight in the Mount Street...

Every time we visit we get a warm welcome - excellent food and nice atmosphere. We live locally so we come often and have never been disappointed. We loved the union jacks in celebration of our Queen's birthday - long may the tradition continue!

We recently attended a wedding at the historic Abbey in Battle, and stayed 3 nights just down the road at the ‘Bull Inn’. While we found the Bull to be a fine pub for drink and meals, we were less than satisfied with the ‘Inn’ side of the equation. On the positive side, the Pub offered local flavor, old English...

This is a delightful historic, old pub situated in the High Street with accommodation above the bars. It is very, very old with all the character you could hope for in an English Inn: creaking sloping floorboards the lot! The staff are amazingly friendly and efficient. it has a personal and family run feel to it. The owner serves a...

Was staying in Battle as part of our regular pilgrimage on Cricket Tour, but when no room was available at the originally booked venue, a room was found at The Bull. This turned out to be much better than that in the original venue and it was a shame the room was not available for the second night. Comfortable bed,...

Working at the Battle Abbey, the locality was great! The inn was very user friendly with great food and drink for lunches and evening meals. we stayed 4 nights in total and, even though we were working, we could've stayed longer.

It's a pretty pub in a pretty village but the whole place was covered in Union Jacks. Perhaps that is normal in the South but to me it looked strange and I kept expecting Nigel Farrage to walk in with a copy of the Daily Mail and a bulldog. The staff made us feel welcome and our room was clean...

Good evening and thank you for taking the time to comment, we do have a lovely town and are very proud of our old building. “ Take your own multi gang electrical extension, as the sockets are scarce. The room has a slightly tatty, home-spun feel to it that all dos to the charm of staying in a very historic building.”

“The hotel is a very old building. Not a problem for us, but expect an old staircase to the rooms. Our room was at the front of the hotel and as there was no double glazing, there was traffic noise. Again, we were okay with this, but others may want to request a quieter room if available.”
