An enjoyable stay in Room 2, this is in our locality, and an old fashioned gem. The restaurant food was nicely presented with extra indulging touches. The staff are all pleasant and hard working to combine a good team atmosphere. Well worth a visit.

We stayed at this splendid little hotel over Easter. The place has lashings of old world charm set amid lovely, extensive grounds. The room, a small double, was adequate for our needs and very comfortable. The food was absolutely excellent, and the service top drawer. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff who were very attentive from the time we...

Beechwood is a great traditionally styled and run hotel. It is a spotlessly clean hotel and the service from all the staff is second to none. Dinner service is a must. It's traditionally operated with pre-dinner drinks and canapes in the bar followed by the main even. The food is really really really good. We had room 3 which is...

Booked in for 1 night but enjoyed it so much we stayed for 3. The staff were excellent, in particular Sam and Rachael, and of course the owner, Hugh who made us feel so welcome. Will recommend to all our friends.

We stayed in a classic double room with large bathroom. The shower was very powerful and hot. A truly fantastic shower. The bed was warm and cosy. The service was polite and friendly. We had a three day deal with dinner and breakfast included. Dinner was three courses plus canapés, and a pre starter and followed by tea or coffee...

On arrival we were greeted at the car and our bags carried in for us. After a few minutes wait for our room, we were taken to it. It was a classic double room which was very clean and comfortable. The furniture is all old fashioned but this suits the hotel. We then enjoyed a nice cream tea in the...

This is a little gem. From the moment your bags are whisked away, you are transported back to a time when quality service meant something. After checking in there's a cream tea waiting, which you can enjoy in the delightful garden if you like. Spotlessly clean, comfortable rooms, a great menu, fabulous food and polite friendly courteous staff.....& the chef...

What a lovely hotel. Was greeted by Hugh on arrival with a very cheery smile. Shown around the hotel by Sam who then took us to our room with a four poster bed and slipper bath. Not modern furniture but all mod cons. Lovely large room. Greeted with a complimentary cream tea. The food was of the highest standard, breakfast...

A three star hotel offering 5 star service. From the warm welcome in the car park and throughout the stay every effort was made to ensure our stay was enjoyable. Room 7 was spotlessly clean, comfortable and quiet with a large bathroom. The turn down service was second to none. The menu offered a good balance of choices. The food...

The Beechwood offers superb food and friendly, efficient but unpretentious service. My wife and I both ordered chef Steve Norgate's 'specials' which were absolutely great. A discreet piano was played throughout the meal, adding to an already lovely ambience. The only tiny downside was that the car park was full and we had to find on street parking which was...
