What can I say? I cannot fau!t this place! Recommended by a friend!y taxi driver we wouldn't have known about this p!ace otherwise. The staff were friendly and attentive. They were knowledgeable about the menu and offered opinion and suggestion when appropriate. The atmosphere was busy and vibrant whilst also offering a cosy and friendly environment. Food was amazing! The County is a pleasantly situated pub/restaurant which offers comfortable seating, friendly staff and fabulous value for money - especially if you choose the lunchtime offer. The fish and chips had crispy batter, succulent fish and yummy chips served in an attractive way. My husband chose the pie which he said was one of the best he had tasted. Basic...

Numerous visits recently and excellent food. Recently changed their menu and preferred the last selection but that's just personal taste. Lovely pub with good beer and wine. Very close to A1M and Newton Aycliffe but the village is quiet with some lovely walks.

Our favourite place for lunch, with our friend is closed for renovations, so we have visited a few establishments recently. The County did not disappoint today the food was delicious. The service was excellent. Really enjoyed our lunch. Look out our favourite place when it reopens you have competition.

We visited on the recommendation of friends on a rare night when the kids were at the grandparents. The food was OK, nothing special and a bit on the pricey side. However there were a couple of issues with the service (mixed up order, wrong sides etc). Perhaps just a blip as they were busy (and noisy). Overall a bit...

This is an odd place sometimes, as they do let them selves down occasionally, but these are rare events indeed for the most part, the food is good, prices offer value for money. Lunch especially is great value. They don't change their menu as often as I would prefer, but that said its still good grub all round. Wines prices...

We arrived at The County about 19:00 and it was packed, there wasn't a table free, luckily we had booked. We had four main meals, all of them fish - Sea Bream, Haddock and fish and chips. We had seasonal vegetables with three of the dishes. For dessert we had ice cream, lemon tart and sticky toffee pudding. The food...

Meal for 9 and again everything was of the highest standard. Table in the bay window overlooking the village green complimented the food perfectly. Food met all the requirements of the diverse age range from mid 20s to mid 80s as well as vegetarian & non vegetarian tastes-fish, steak pie, tortellini all praised highly as were the desserts & cheese...
