This hotel exceeded my expectations in all aspects. It has a very special, cosy vibe and the room is like a wooden log cabin which is unique yet comfortable. What made my stay with my 3 other Singapore friends more memorable was the excellent staff in this hotel. Special compliments to Heidi who was truly a remarkable staff who went...

The hotel is situated in a good location close to the shops, eating and drinking options and the supermarket. The museum is a 700 metre walk through town. The airport bus 75 NOK pp one way or 120 NOK pp return drops off and picks up from the front door. The hotel also has a great restaurant (Kroa) attached. The...

Can a hotel make you, feel sorry that you left the arctic, check fly tickets to go back there when you have just arrived back home? Yes it can and its name is Basecamp hotel in Longyerabyen in Svalbard. Definitely the best ever! Excellent service, excellent and friendly staff, excellent breakfast and a door inside the hotel that brings you...

We are 2 friends travelling in Svalbard, we stayed in Basecamp for 6 days: Staff: We are in love with the staff, very friendly and they helped us with a lot of information and activities. Hotel and Room: The Room looks very nice all from old wood, the beds are comfortable, and it feels like a Viking house - from...

This isn't your run of the mill regular hotel. Its got character and feel of the days of yore when everything wasn't perfectly 'manicured'. As soon as you enter you feel transported back in time, you actually feel you are far away from civilization.... It's got all the amenities of modern living and rooms & toilets are comfortable but small...

Wow - a boutique hotel in the Artic Circle! Would have impressed me in central London! Friendly, smart staff who really look after you. Rooms and public areas have bags of character. If you come to Svalbard you really should stay here as nothing like it. It really made our trip more of an 'adventure' - it has that vibe...

We have always stayed at Radisson on our previous visits, but this time we luckily wanted to try something new. Basecamp is not an ordinary hotel, it's much more .... lots of atmosphere! We loved to stay in a family suite, two bedrooms. Rough style on the interiors, you get the feeling of staying in a hunters cabin. Still you...

We visited the hotel in June this year, only staying one night before going on an expedition cruise. We found the staff very welcoming, the rooms are lovely - warm and cosy. Breakfast was also very good. Unfortunately we weren't able to stay on the way back but the much-more-expensive hotel we were put in was a big disappointment after...

The Basecamp Hotel at Longyearbyen have a great atmosphere! It breathes Svalbard thru the interior with its authentic items collected from all around the islands. They have very nice, polite and helpful staff. The room was very cosy and authentic. Great breakfast in a nice atmosphere.

This was our first visit to Longyearbyen - and I hope we visit again. Loved it. We had a number of options for where to stay but chose the Basecamp based on reviews we'd read and its reputation. It's well situated but the city isn't large and do it's easy enough to navigate and find your way round. The seating...
