Nestled cosily in the lap of Himalayas, this hotel offers great views of Mount Kanchenjunga. We chose the heritage wing and were served breakfast on the first floor balcony. This was undoubtedly our best breakfast ever with the breathtaking surrounding view on a clear morning that was neither warm nor cold. Skip Darjeeling, since it is filthy and overcrowded, and choose...

We had booked this hotel way before in Jan, 2016 and checked from time to time with the hotel personals about our reservation. Upon arrival on the hotel at 2: pm on our first day there was nobody to attend us. we were told that the hotel is sold out to Mayfair. We were in a fix as there was...

It was a family trip to Kalimpong. Three days (12-15 May, 2016). Himalayan Hotel is a beautiful retreat with great views and superb service. Special mention must be made of the front desk managers Mr Nigam and Mr Gurung who took care of every comfort and every request of ours. Kalimpong is about sudden fogs and mists and sunshine and...

Kalimpong, the name sounded very exotic...we were excited to drive down 3 hours through snaking roads downhill from baramangwa...and to our dismay kalimpong was the worst ever stinky dirty town we had ever been to...went from pillar to post looking for a decent accommodation...the key word decent because everything else was so stinky!!! Having inspected a lot of hotels in...

It was a family trip. Almost 20 of us turned up and we had a great time. Our stay coincided with the local assembly elections but the staff ensured that we had no issues. Service was good, food was great. Do try the continental fare, esp the onion soup. We were the only residents of the hotel. Rumours are that...

This is a great heritage property. You can not expect 5 star experience here but hospitality is top class. Great food, exceptional views along with a slice of history makes it a great experience. A must stay while you travel to NE. It is a pity that not too many people stay here

Highly recommended. We loved the old building with its history; the enormous family house has been very well converted for hotel use,Other rooms are in separate buildings dotted around the lovely gardens, but we didn't see those. Very good food in the restaurant, and bacon for breakfast!

I stayed in this Hotel for a night this month on an official trip to Kalimpong. The property is old but superb with good and cordial staffs. Ambience around is very serene , though not far from the town but far from the madding crowd. The food is expensive with very little options. Overall nice place for lazing holiday and...

Charming hotel with nice rooms and beautiful garden. The main building has a nice restaurant with good food and kind service. To bad so few people stay here because cannot imagine a better place than this. 5 minutes walk from the city but not the noises of the cars etc.

"Charming" is definitely the word for this hotel, there is an old-world feel about the place with high ceilings and golden wood panelling. The view from the rooms is perfect and if you like gardens this is a must see spot. The food is plentiful and good after hiking all day. I found that the staff is a little reserved...
