We were extremely impressed by Hazel & Nik’s inviting retreat in McLaren Vale.
We were warmly welcomed by our host Hazel who checked us in and gave us an informative run through of activities and sightseeing we could do in our area as well as a map & coupons to local wineries and restaurants nearby.
Our room was meticulously clean and airy with a small kitchenette stocked with local treats and wine and some home baked brownies from Hazel. The room felt luxurious with the bathroom being so large equipped with all the amenities you need. Netflix is also available if you wish to watch tv.
The lodge offers garden views with a bike trail out the back if you want to explore further.
The beach is also about 8 mins drive if you are keen on a nice picnic by the water along with many restaurants showcasing locally sourced produce on the menu.
We were well looked after and enjoyed a thoughtfully planned delicious breakfast by Hazel (my husbands dietary was well catered for with no issues).
Our hosts were well organised and personalised their service, we will certainly be back and highly recommend Mulberry Lodge for couples looking to relax in serene views.
Thank you Hazel & Nik we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

We had a fabulous stay at the Mulberry Lodge! It was the perfect base for exploring the McLaren Vale wine region, particularly wineries along the Shiraz Trail (which backs right onto the Lodge). Hazel was a wonderful host - the breakfast hamper each morning and the high tea we had were delicious, and every little detail has been thought of for the room. Highly recommend and hope to get back there again one day soon!

Hazel and Nik are lovely, accommodating hosts. Lots of thoughtful touches throughout the property and Nik took care of all the wedding ceremony setup so I could relax with my bridesmaids. Hazel is a superb cook and keeps everything organised in the background to help her guests relax and not have to worry about chasing suppliers etc. Our ceremony was beautiful and relaxed because of Hazel and Nik's organisation. We highly recommend Mulberry Lodge as a gorgeous venue for garden wedding ceremonies. Accommodation is lovely and luxurious, well worth a visit and definitely value for money.

A tranquil, relaxing retreat which is perfect if you are looking for a holiday destination to get away from it all. The gardens are just lovely.
This is a beautifully presented accommodation with superb attention to detail. The hosts, Hazel and Nik, are always near at hand if required but never encroach on your privacy.
Breakfast delivered every morning was always a highlight!
Beach, countryside, wineries and shops all very close at hand.
We will return and highly recommend!

We absolutely loved staying at Mulberry Lodge. Everything (yes, every single thing) was just right without being overdone or fussy. Beautifully furnished and appointed, lovely fresh aroma, incredible bathroom, wonderful bed, and the most amazing breakfast. And clean as could be. We'd definitely like to return.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mulberry Lodge located in South Australia’s McLaren Vale wine district. Hazel was a wonderful host, and nothing was too much trouble. Her generous breakfast hampers provided a wonderful start to the day. We loved sitting outside in our private dining area enjoying the peaceful, secluded garden setting. The complimentary electric bikes were a great way to explore the Shiraz trail and the adjacent townships of McLaren Vale and Willunga. Aptly described as a couple’s retreat, we highly recommend a stay at Mulberry Lodge.

Thanks very much for your review , we're pleased that you enjoyed your stay and our breakfast hampers. It's a lovely time of year in the gardens and the complimentary use of the Electric Bikes has been a great hit with guests. Having the Shiraz Cycle trail, accessed from the back of our property is such a bonus for our guests.

Found this lovely spot Mulberry Lodge just south of Adelaide just as a get away for 2 of us in July.
What a fantastic spot, Perfect for couples relaxing weekend, first class class Garden Retreat accommodation, with fine wineries located all around McLaren Vale, dining at its best.
Mulberry lodge offers a wonderful welcoming experience and the best breakfasts in the world!!
We rode bikes, on the bike track, through the vineyards, walked to Willunga for the Saturday Markets, You could have been in a French village, but we were in Good old SA.
Many thanks Hazel & Nik for your hospitality .. we will be back when it warms up
Cheers

We had a lovely 2 night stay in this delightful retreat. It was bought as a gift for a special birthday. The lodge is beautiful and comfortable with everything you need. Comfortable bed, cosy sitting area and the bathroom is luxurious with underfloor heating. Hazel was there to welcome us and show us around. The little touches like the delicious treats and heating on were much appreciated. It's lovely and peaceful with a beautiful garden vista to enjoy. The breakfast's were delicious and delivered to our door each morning. Today it was warmer so we sat outside to enjoy our breakfast and listen to the birds. There's so much to enjoy in this region, the many wineries, the beach isn't too far and Willunga itself has some lovely shops and eateries. Would highly recommend if you are looking for somewhere to stay.

We spent 3 nights at Mulberry Lodge celebrating our anniversary in early September. Hazel and Nick were wonderful hosts, nothing was too much trouble. The room was cosy and beautifully appointed and surrounding grounds were spacious and colourful - a wonderful place to enjoy breakfast (which was tastingly different every morning!) A short stroll through the rear paddock and you're on the Shiraz trail - so there is plenty to keep you busy and relaxed !
10/10 - and will be back

I was looking for an experience for a memorable christmas present and came across Mullberry Lodge Retreat. The name sounded pleasant and the experience matched it. Hazel was a gracious host, her breakfast hamper superb and home cooked and the garden delightful. We sat in the garden surrounded by flowers with a glass of McLaren Vale wine to top off a great day
