The Westland is a quintessential Australian motel. Park at your door, stay in comfortable room with basic amenities, slightly dated but serviceable furnishing, small yet functional bathroom - old style power shower. Heating and cooling, pool for the hot days with picnic tables. The highlight is the excellent friendly staff, east location next to the plaza and the on-site restaurant is good affordable food. A very good stay.

Room Tip:Â The restaurant is very popular with locals, probably best to book at table for Saturday night.

Happy with this - nice reception and restaurant , big clean and warm room, big bathroom. We were in the Palms side. Slightly dated? But everything working and a nice bed. Cost $180 per night, so not what I would call cheap, but we were a late booking on an exceptionally busy weekend in town so that might not be fair. Continental breakfast included is really average and boring but will feed you, the cooked for coming out looked pretty good. Friendly staff. Will use again and do recommend.

staff are amazing, especially the breakfast staff. So polite and helpful. Rooms are cleaned every day. Microwave and bar fridge in room, great shower great water pressure, air con/heater works great, small table with 2 seats also in room a double couch. Room service available, and staff who deliver are friendly. I felt safe as a single female staying here ,parking in sight from your room, shopping center within a 1 minute walk from here, taxis are available just outside the venue. Would defiantly recommend staying here.

Decided to join him on a work trip, he stays here often. Comfortable room although not sure why we got the disabled one. Bed is okay, (a queen) given the size of the room with lots of empty floor space a king would have been better. Lots of empty floor space only small desk with one chair. Limited crockery only two coffee mugs (good size) and two small glasses no wine glasses. Tea coffee & biscuits supplied with kettle and microwave.
Bathroom again lots of floor space but no vanity so no where to put toiletries bag or even toothbrush/paste other then floor. Shower was fine with good water pressure and plenty of hot, there is a shelf in there to put shampoo/conditioner. Towels not very big but can ask for extras. Included breakfast was very good, staff friendly. Dinner was nice although wine list a bit limited, can bring own and pay corkage. Salad/vegetable bars excellent and yummy.
Facilities good, guest laundry handy with two machines and two dryers complimentary with washing liquid, as well as clothes line available. BYO pegs.
Pool area looks newly updated with new undercover areas and bbq.
We r here for over a week so hopefully kinks will be worked out.
Reception and room cleaning staff lovely friendly and helpful. Thanks

The Whyalla Westland Motel was a nice place to overnight with convenient parking and a comfortable bed and excellent shower. We found the heating to be a bit poor and the room otherwise comfortable and a good stay. The on-site bistro had a good menu and was very popular, breakfast was included in our stay.

mmmm was good, but getting tired. noisy, poorly fitted curtains and lots of light means a good nights sleep may be difficult
food ok
rooms noisy not helped by inconsiderate miners drinking on the verandahs and yapping late into the night. sadly not the owners fault.

First we were greeted by a lovely lady at reception, our room was nice, clean and what we expected for the price. Shower a little dodgy but I’ve had a lot worse. We had a meal and it was very very nice. Very impressed by the food and the service. The included breakfast was great, a lot more choice than I expected, we left feeling content and full. We really didn’t want to leave.

Very nice meals . Ate there twice during a recent stay. Was greeted in the restaurant & met both the restaurant manager & Chef. One meal was the beef short rib (I had the 1/2 sized meal) & it was a huge meal. The next night I shared the Lamb rack with roast Veg with my friend. Both meals were cooked loverly, well presented & tasty . What more could you ask for in a Pub. Well done guys!

The staff were very accommodating and friendly, our meals were exceptional and our room was very clean, spacious and comfortable. The shopping centre next door is a bonus. The hotel is several kilometres from the city, but as the shopping centre is next door with major supermarkets and many specialty shops, this not an issue. The new jetty is a major attraction in the city, and is well worth a visit.

Lovely lady on check on. Nice tidy pool area. Breakfast was included which was simple but was a great start to our day, again lovely staff. Room was perfectly fine for one night, only down a mark because the room was a little dark and musty. Great stop on our way through.

The parking is not secure as such but I parked my vehicle in front of my room and had no second thoughts about its security. I hope this information helps.
I concur, I travel on business in a highly visible marked vehicle and have no problems parking there.Probably safest parking area of motels in Whyalla.
There are more places to choose from in the Whyalla area.
