Detailed Reviews
Absolutely one of the best and after being on the road for 15 years we can spot the great ones. Under new ownership the park has undergone many changes, all for the better. The grounds are immaculate with lots of nice shady spots to just sit and relax. There is 2 camp kitchens which is handy for all types of weather. The amenities are immaculate and cleaned several times a day, well done to the cleaners that have a eye for detail. There is a playground to keep the kids occupied, and best of all there is a top notch dog off leash area to keep the furry kids busy, they put so much thought into this area your dog wont want to leave. They have sites to suit from the smallest tent to the largest of big rigs with lots of space to park and move around. The park feels very secure with great lighting at night and you never feel worried going out and leaving your van. The park is very quiet, relaxing and peaceful....and all this for one of the most affordable prices we have come across. Steve and Tania go out of their way to make your stay perfect, they are happy and friendly and very helpful and often have free camp kitchen bbq's for anyone that want to get together with other guests, Amy and Tyson are great additions to the team.
If you are in the area or passing through do yourself a favour and stay at the whyalla caravan and tourist park, whether it be a long or short stay, you will not be disappointed.

Arrived mid afternoon and powered sites were all booked.
Steve then made every effort to find a spot with power and water, then only charged us for a non-powered site and then asked if we were seniors and gave us a seniors discount! What a legend, Thanks Steve for all your help!!

Having travelled over 7000kms and stayed in many caravan parks and camping sites this has to be the cleanest and neatest place yet. We could only stay one night but we were so impressed with the facilities and our drive through site. Staff were also friendly and helpful. We’ll done!

Stayed here for work, would not recommend. cleaners are lovely but the rest of the staff are very up themselves talk very loudly and rudely to others on the phone or in person....
Not everyone wants to know your business. When you ask or suggest something negative about the place they get defensive straight away. Workers kitchen and accomodation is like a detention centre, have stayed in much nicer in more rural areas, only benefit is I didn't have to pay for it!
Colleagues stayed at the other park by the beach and I got the short straw unfortunately... that looks much nicer and welcoming.

We stayed here for 2 nights on a powered site, the sites are large which is great, the owners are friendly and very helpful. The amenities are very clean and well kept with plenty of hot water. Camp kitchen has everything you need and is kept clean. The park is small and very quiet which we needed after spending 3 nights in a much larger park with tiny sites. Short drive to local pub for dinner which was great. The owners have only been here for 9 months and are still getting the place up to their standards, we loved our stay and were very comfortable, if we pass bye again it will definitely be where we stay.

Stayed Thursday 5th March for one night in a Superior Cabin. The park is located 5 km's from Whyalla CBD - seemed to be in the middle of nowhere, certainly not in a built up area of the town. Yes that's my fault for not checking the location of this park before I booked there. Beware the park does not have free WIFI, they refuse to pay the cost to have NBN connected because of their isolated position. Lucky you can still get mobile reception with your phone though. The park looks a bit rough, gravel everywhere no green grass around the cabins and sites. Seems its popular with tradies and truck drivers not a family friendly park, nothing there for kids to do.
Really disappointed with our cabin, the pictures on their website are old ones probably taken when the cabins were brand new. The cabins are showing signs of wear and tear and need to be repaired, as well as the furniture inside needs updating. We had Cabin 7 the bathroom exhaust fan was not working, the vertical blinds on sliding door were faulty with 3 verticals missing, generally the cabin was not maintained as you would expect, management should be checking these things prior to guest arriving. It shouldn't be up to the guests to tell them about these things. We did not feel comfortable being there, glad it was only for one night and were happy when we left the next morning.

Response from Whyalla Caravan Park, Owner at Whyalla Caravan & Tourist Park

Hi Michael, Thank-you for taking the time to provide feedback following your stay with us. It is disappointing to hear that the cabins were not up to your standards and we sincerely apologise for the maintenance and cleanliness issues that you experienced. Rest assured I have passed these issues onto our park managers so that improvements can be made. Unfortunately, because of our location NBN is not available where we are and the only internet available here is satellite and 4G. Both of these services are very limited and unreliable making internet use for guests slow and valueless. Once again, we would like to thank-you for feedback and hope we can welcome you back again soon. Kind Regards, Whyalla Caravan Park

The cabins were perfect for our getaway, self contained, so we could make our own meals everything you would need to cook was supplied. The cabin was neat and tidy and very quiet at night. The staff were very helpful and friendly to make sure our stay was fantastic

We were fortunate to be given a beautiful grassy drive through site. I'm not sure who enjoyed the beautiful grass under feet the most, myself or our dog Gretchen. This park is one of the best we've stayed at. Everything is so perfectly clean & tidy. The laundry facilities are all new & amenities are sparkling clean. There is even a fabulous off leash dog park with toys & runs for your doggie to try out their skills.
It's so well presented & maintained & all the staff we met were so very friendly & helpful. The park is a credit to the owners & staff.
Thanks again. Keep up the great work. We highly recommend this lovely quiet park.

Lovely clean caravan park. Great hosts. Not walking distance to town, but not far out. Stayed one night. Visited the port and saw the dolphins swimming in there and some seals hanging around the huge new pier. Would stay here again when driving through.

Stayed for one night in a basic cabin. Very surprised with the cabin as everything was great in it. A queen bed and single bed in a room separate from kitchen living area. Nice comfortable beds and all very clean. Used bbq area and camp kitchen which was very clean. Whole park was immaculate. Only complaint was toilet door would not shut properly. Enjoyed our stay and will come back.
