Visited this hotel with long-lost friends at their recommendation for lunch. My partner and I and our 3 friends are all pensioners and so treat such an outing as just that - a treat. As my partner and I are both slight and have a correspondingly small appetite, we elected to share a seafood platter for 2 between 3 of...

They must have changed cooks, T bone ordered rare to medium, they both come out well done. We also ordered dianne sauce and they come drowned totally drowned in pepper sauce. The...

Stayed while there was the raging December storm on 26,27 December 2016. Linen was clean. the shared amenities were old but spotlessly clean and the food is very good pub grub. Excellent salad and veggie bar.

Looking for somewhere for lunch we came across this hotel, so glad we did. Had the best Roast Lamb, our plates were loaded with Lamb and Garvey and potatoes, you then helped yourself to hot vegetables. Great value for $15:95. Good old fashion service, lovely decor. They had other great cheap options for meals and good prices. Would highly recommend.

Like nobody over 80 in the top bunks!! The restaurant staff were a great team, always happy and helpful. The meals were...

What a great place to eat! Eating here is the highest definition of good pub grub. We had the seafood basket for two. For $35, wasn't expecting too much but was very pleasantly surprised. It was very generous with Oyster Kilpatrick, scallops, prawns both crumbled and skewered, fillet of fish and the best salt and pepper squid ever. Awesome food...

We had roast lamb for $14.90, plus salad bar and cooked vegetable bar. The veges were nice and hot, and the roast lamb was good. The surroundings are very plain, but service was good, and friendly. A glass of house white was very pleasant, and cost $4.50. A can of cider was $6.50. We couldn't fit in dessert, but chocolate...

This lovely old building has not been renovated as well as it good be. The meals are hearty but the service and ambience is ordinary. Why don't VH pubs promote local wines more? It's worth a walk upstairs just to how lovely this building is and how much more the downstairs could be enhanced. Wayne
