Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Food was fine. Just sad when the waitress who brings your food out gives you attitude. So very rude. Also witnessed her throw a pizza box on a table instead of placing it down. Someone unhappy in the wrong job. Perfect location but this attitude has the ability to ruin a good meal on a beautiful day. Luckily the other young waitress was lovely and embarrassed for the rude staff.

After finding a table the queue to order was very long and slow to move and the wait time for the meal to be delivered much much longer. The steak was cooked as ordered which was great but the crumbed calamari ordered as an entry was not even delivered. After asking why a refund was offered but to late to cook. Great location but more attention needs to be paid to getting the ordered food delivered to the table in a reasonable time and making sure that all orders are fully fulfilled.

Pre-booked a table and secured a time but had to wait in a tight line to be served, stating "have you found your table?" No social distancing in the bistro what so ever. Overcrowded to the max!!!!! You could not squeeze past anyone without bumping shoulders. Even if not in trying times,it was very uncomfortable. Service food staff under 16 at a guess and stepping over children under 5 all over the floor.

Staff greeted us on check-in and we're very friendly and helpful. The room was fairly simple but clean and functional. Dinner at the bistro was lovely, well presented and with generous portions. Gluten free options were available. The cost of the room included a continental breakfast which definitely makes for good value for money. Highly recommended as an overnight stay.

If you plan to stay at Streaky bay plan ahead and ask for room 1. You won’t be disappointed. We paid 240 for the night, compared with a workers cabin @ 130 and a motel room at 150 on the Eyre loop. This is the best room I have ever ever stayed in. The food and staff were wonderful but the veranda and the view the hero’s. Beautiful wine glass’s and china tea cups and mugs made us feel like royalty….. so don’t rent a cheap cabin or motel room when you could be upstairs. There were also other less expensive rooms but didn’t have the full corner view we did

We stayed in their balcony executive room for 2 nights. The room was beautifully renovated and furnished with brass bed, leather lounges and double rainwater shower. Lovely views from our balcony. However, our stay was marred by an unpleasant smell emanating from the drains. Management must have know this was an ongoing problem but they acted surprised when we told them and said that of course they would see to it. Their response was to spray something down the drains which didn’t really do much. It’s such a shame because the room had been done up beautifully and the location was excellent. Breakfast was help yourself continental breakfast. Popular location for dinner.

Clean, friendly accommodation in a great location. The food at the hotel was wholesome and fresh too. Rooms had everything you would expect, beds comfortable and large bathrooms. Includes a continental breakfast as well. Thanks Tony and Penny

I was fortunate enough to stay at the Streaky Bay Pub early June (2022). A mate and I were passing through and had been told by so many people we had to stay at the pub or at the very least go for a meal and the Friday night raffles. Our intent was 1 night however we stayed for 3 (motel rooms at the rear). What an incredible pub. The motel rooms were really comfortable and well appointed and very good value. The pub itself is just sensational. The pub meals are really honest and great value and the bistro is a different menu and a wonderful dining experience. All of the food was tasty and fresh and it was evident the amount of care taken unlike so many pubs I visited. All of the staff were super friendly and helpful and the owners are just next level amazing. Fortunate enough to meet both Penny and Hoags and share a drink and get some local intel. You couldn’t find 2 people better suited to run a pub. They treated us like family and were incredibly kind and accommodating. The Friday night raffles were a real buzz and all the locals were super friendly and eager for a chat or to lend advice on places to visit. I can’t wait to return one day particularly when it’s not howling wind and arctic.
