I called work and got them to find me an alternative. The rooms were less than desirable, shared bathroom/ Toilets. Back door had a fire hydrant standing unsecured in the perfect spot to become an exit hazard.

A very OLD pub - stayed the night in the outside cabins - these are very worn and quite run down. The price at $85 a night was low - so no point in complaining - but don't expect a clean and new place! This is suitable for backpackers who can tolerate old and a bit unclean. Beds were small...

Great night there after walking a portion of the Heysen Trail. The publican Ian was very attentive and we had the free run of the upstairs of a grand old railway style hotel. While I can see what some reviewers mean that some aspects of the pub could do with a clean, at $35 a head and after three nights...

At least they had rooms available for cyclists arriving fairly late in the day. The one shared shower was at least hot. The price was appropriately low and my bed was clean and comfortable. You could sink millions into this place and not notice much. It's a fixeruperer. I'm surprised it's not condemned and still allowed to sell accommodation. Luckily...

A Run Down building: Hotel needs refurbishment and the Motel rooms need a rebuild: they are not good, even for an overnight stay. Meals are pretty average. Overall disappointing, but the new Owner is trying and he's friendly enough

Under new management (just under a year) we stayed for two nights in mid October with two adults and one child. Some initial confusion saw us in room 5 (the motel rooms at the back of the hotel) and we needed a trundle bed for our son (this room has only one queen sized bed). We found the room to...

We thought we'd give a new proprietor a 'go' on our visit to Quorn. Yes building needs serious refurbishment & motel units an upgrade...but for the price it was more than adequate. Any issues were fixed promptly with a 'smile on the face' attitude. The bed in unit 5 was excellent, as was the bedding. TV reception perfect. Just a...

The hotel will offer food if its open, But there are two additional hotels round the corner that sell good food at a decent price. No internet, and No vodafone coverage. The hotel is clean but standard 1970s style room. Fan heater for heating and window rattler for cooling. But the price is right and the sleep was ok.

Met the new owner who is slowly restoring the pub and was very friendly. Stayed here on the weekend with my husband and son when going on the Pichi Richi. We stayed in the rooms out the back, although old they were very clean. We thought they were great for $80 with continental breakfast. The meal in the restaurant was...

40 members of the Australasian Touring Caravan, Motorhome & Camping Club enjoyed a great meal at the Criterian. Manager Ian and his staff were very welcoming & the Chef did a great job churning out tasty meals in quick succession. Happy to recommend the country pub.

Thank Anita R
