Enjoyed a lovely night at this cosy B&B. It is close to restaurants and the local cinema and ticked all the boxes to what we were looking for. The rooms were spacious and the property was very clean and tidy. The booking process was stress free and the host Susan was lovley to deal with. I would not hesitate to book again and look forward to returning in the future and, will be recommending to our friends.

What a treat. Forget paying a not dissimilar price for overcrowded tourist hotels in Hahndorf - try this gem in Mount Barker instead. Such a pleasant place to stay that we decided to forego a couple of winery visits and instead grabbed a bottle or 2 from the excellent Mt Barker Pulpit Cellars http://www.pulpitcellars.com.au/ then lit a fire in the sitting room fireplace, curled up on the leather chesterfields and had a cosy afternoon in. Then across the hall to the comfy main bedroom for a quiet and restful night's sleep. Repeat.
You have the whole of the front section of the house: 2 bedrooms with queen & double beds, large sitting room, combined kitchen/bathroom space with large double shower and spa bath. Kitchen has microwave, fridge, kettle, breakfast cereals, milk and bread provided. And wood for the fire in winter, if you'd like it, tho reverse-cycle air conditioning is also available.
Many thanks to Sue for her stewardship of her grandfather's beautiful home, and sharing it with those of us lucky enough to find it.

As soon as we booked our wedding venue at Auchendarroch House in Mount Barker I knew this is where I would be getting ready for the last time as a Miss, and returning after our big day as a Mrs... And what a location it is.
Located on Adelaide Road right in the heart of the gorgeous Mount Barker in the Adelaide Hills, it is set back from the road in picturesque well maintained gardens, the perfect location for pre wedding photos.
The home has 2 well sized bedrooms with all the trimmings that you can expect from a heritage home, the main bedroom that accesses the 2 way bathroom, with a double shower and a spa bath, and the other just across the hallway. Both rooms with veiws of the surrounding gardens. It also has a lounge room with comfy lounges and a table and chairs to enjoy the Continential breakfast that was provided.
There is a return verandah that makes a great spot to have a morning coffee and just watch the world go by, or to write that last minute speech.
Right from first contact with Susan we couldnt have been happier, everything was easy and done and just trouble and worry free.
My husband and i are very much looking forward to returning to Oakfield Inn for our 1st wedding anniversary and hopefully many more after that as well.

We had booked this beautiful accommodation and paid a deposit but due to family reasons had to cancel 3 weeks before experiencing the stay in the Adelaide Hills. We had nothing but positive communication from the Owners and they immediately refunded our deposit. Their service was excellent in all areas. Just hoping to get the opportunity to stay one weekend soon in this wonderful cottages.

Thanks for a lovely Stay
We really enjoyed this 1850 Home. It was very clean, the 2 bedrooms were spacious, and a cosy lounge/dining area. We arrived on a very hot day in Adelaide and the B&B was so cool inside we did not have to use the air conditioner!! We slept beautifully and woke up to have our breaky on the Verandah. Although 30 metres from the main Rd you hear very little when inside. The location is perfect if you want to walk to the local pub or the Historic “Auchendarroch” where we decided to watch a movie. We had a small mishap with our car, and the owners Andrew and Susan were very lovely to help us out. We were most grateful. Thanks again we will most definitely recommend you!

having booked well in advance we were disappointed that we were unable to access the property and had to seek alternate accommodation at 5.30 pm. The property does not look as inviting in real life as on the website as there was rusty furniture and a torn pillow on a chair on the veranda. The owner was quite disagreeable when she contacted us around 6.45 pm when we had taken unsuitable accommodation elsewhere. Our deposit was returned to her credit.

For all the Hardworking Business Owners all around the world running accommodation - trying to please customers who stay...Dont give up - !!! Just remember all the wonderful people that come and stay and love your Business- instead of the ones who put it down!!. In response to above "unable to review" . With every effort to try and reason with you, it fell on deaf ears...By the way Our Rustic furniture is fitting for our beautiful 1850's home and we bought it like that! Sorry that you went on to "ANOTHER" unsuitable accommodation - Im confident you would have loved Oakfield Inn.. !!!!

On a recent romantic getaway we enjoyed a night at this clean and spacious cottage . Having a lovely barossa red in front of the open fire was just devine. Close to restaurants and the cinema the owners are only too happy to help to make the most out of our stay. Looking forward to next time we stay.

A character filled property with the most wonderful hosts. Clean and tidy. Would certainly stay again. Loved the open fire, the character of the entire homestead and the comfy bed. Great location for walks to the park, cinema and a gem of a coffee shop we found (sazon). Will be back for another special night.

We stayed at Adelaide Hills Oakfield Inn and really enjoyed the experience. The historic homestead is beautifully furnished and the open fires are so warm and cosy. We loved the fact that we were so close to the Wallis Cinema complex as well as the lovely restaurants in Mt Barker. Also loved the huge bath! Well priced and definitely recommend a visit!
