Great quiet spot next to Chalk Hill Winery, bike trail and 5 min walk to Coles to stock up on essentials with cafes and restaurants near by. We were on a powered site. The caravan park has lovely grassed sites, however they are a bit tight especially if you have a large van and the park is not lit up well at night especially for loo visits. It has a small pool and tennis court and is dog friendly with an off leash area for them too. The camp kitchen and bathrooms are basic but clean. Next time will book an ensuite site as they had lots of them and they weren't located at the end of the park like at other places. Would definitely stay again

Lovely spot, lots of activities, just not a wine touring area, camping site could look at improving their lighting, not adequately lit at night, wifi is frustratingly difficult to log on, it’s intermittent and a new voucher code has to be acquired at the office everyday, otherwise it’s a nice location just a little way down from the Main Street, biking is popular and good walks.

Cabin was not too bad but getting a little weary. It did have two rooms with double beds and as we are not spring chickens any more my sister and her husband were happy with the sleeping arrangements. We did find the bathroom very cosy. My partner is a rather tall and over 100kg so there wasn't much room for him to move. No hair dryer!! I thought all holiday venues had installed hair dryers. No face washer or hand towel. Yes, we do still use them. We went out and bought some. All up for a short stay it was acceptable. Not a patch on Port Hughes or Streaky Bay though.

This park is well situated near to town and very near to a number of wineries. It is also well back from the road so there is no vehicle noise at all. It has good grass and some shade from trees. The amenities are clean and in good order. The sites are small. My 7.5m Motorhome only just fitted. I saw vans and other RVs in similar shape. Despite the speed limit being walking pace, there are still several nasty speed bumps. The park has limited capacity WiFi. To access it you need a daily code. I did not bother. This park raises its prices for holidays. It provides nothing extra on these days. I believe this is price gouging, pure and simple.

We have been coming to McLaren Vale Lakeside Caravan Park several times since 2002 or 2003. Always relaxing with the OnSuites on several of the spots. Easy walk to the small town of McLaren Vale full of resturants and shops. Lovely to drive or bicyckling from the caravan park around in the Wine Country. Very nice and friendly staff and nice kept grounds.
