Rented a cabin over the recent long weekend and was advised I needed to book and pay for a 4 night stay due to it being the long weekend. High cost of $160 per night for a basic standard cabin with bed in living area and noisy air conditioner and fridge but was aware it would be basic so no complaints. In talking with our neighbours I discovered they were not required to book 4 nights and in talking with a staff member she confirmed that all other cabin holders paid for 3 nights only and it was because it was the last cabin left that I was required to pay for 4 nights even though I didnt stay tonight. The reason for the extra nights payment was because it was the last cabin!!! How does this rationale work and where is the fairness especially after they sent an email out on Friday that there was a cabin vacant due to a cancellation and it could be booked for 3 nights!!! A business owner/manager of very poor integrity and customer care factor.…
Had a 4night fully paid booking here since Dec 2019. Unable to use until now due COVID interstate restrictions. Did not get a good vibe. Had to pay extra $34 even though only staying 4 nights and they have had my money all this time. VERY strict arrival times, will NOT let you in before 2pm. Arrived at 12.30. Park not full, slow season, and caravan site clear. What the? Was "allowed" in at 1pm after pointing this out. There are LOTS of rules. Sites nice and grassy. Amenities average, small showers. No water in the lake. $4 washing machines. $5 to wash car/van. $10 early arrival penalty. No wifi. With a bit of extra effort could be a really great park. Just scrapes in to 2 stars out of 5 due to location and grassy site.
Very central to town. Good sized sites. Clean amenities. Friendly staff and very helpful. A little pricey but location justifies cost. Peaceful area for total relaxation. Quiet at night time. Great area for non powered sites. Overall we were very happy with our experience. Will definitely return again
Having booked nearly 12 months in advance with a group, we arrived to find out we couldn't get in before 2pm so had to leave our motorhome outside and discover McLaren Vale for 2 hours. We had an ensuite powered site. Ensuite was adequate but no hooks to hang clothes or towels on. On checkout when I suggested an improvement could be made by installing hooks, I was impolitely told "some ensuites have hooks". The camp kitchen was large and well equipped, but cleaning could be improved, there were so many cobwebs on the walls, ceilings and chairs. Laundry facilities were good. This should be a great place to stay based on setting and location however staff (office and ground) being rude and abrupt do not enhance the stay.
Have stayed here several times over the years but unfortunately the current owners/managers are running it into the ground, They are rude, disrespectful and greedy. The site we booked a year in advance was taken away from us. I was rung about it on Christmas Eve while at work. I asked if this matter could be addressed after Christmas as I work retail and it was the busiest day of the year for me. I was told no that I could either agree to it then and there or get my deposit back. They don't care about their customers and the customer's money! The grounds are showing signs of neglect, maintenance not done - weeds everywhere. Now they want 5 nights minimum for Easter and 4 nights for each long weekend! Greedy!! Most people who go away at these times work and making them pay for an extra night that they can't use is ridiculous!! Sad that a previously great park is being ruined......…
The park is attractive with lovely grassy areas however the amenities are tired and in need of renovation. As mentioned in previous reviews, the staff need customer service training especially how to greet guests and make them feel welcome. The water quality is very poor - it is very hard so soap does not lather and it tastes awful. We bought bottled water for drinking. Apparently, the caravan park is not connected to mains water so I wonder what the source of the water is and whether it is treated.
Stayed here for three nights and it was an excellent stay. The caravan park is well presented, well maintained and whilst large with lots of sights, does not feel crowded at all. Wise to book as it is a popular destination year round. The grounds are lovely and we had a spacious, grassed site. The amenities are excellent, there is a camp kitchen and wifi is available. It is walking distance from the Main Street of McLaren Vale. A little pricey reflecting its popularity.
This could be a fantastic park based on setting and location however a booking and stay can be challenging. We had a booking here confirmed nearly 12 months ago with site allocation. In that time there were 3 site changes made without notice and at one stage the booking was totally cancelled by staff without notice. Only found out through occasional phone follow up. On arrival and during our week long stay we found staff (office and ground) to be rude and abrupt.
The cabin was basic, hard beds and lounge. Not that clean only what you could see, lots dust behind the lounge, doors. Curtain rail in the lounge held together with cable ties and falls down if you try to open them. The park is great well located, camp kitchen great bbq facilities.
Beautiful spot in an idyllic place but the staff need to lift their game. Telephone manner very abrupt and unaccommodating. It was our first time using our van so we knew it would take us longer to set up but they wanted to charge us for an hour early entrance. Also want to take a second car in just to un load things but no they would not let us in the park for a half an hour (was happy to leave the car in visitors park afterward) so we had to unload in the car park! Will spread the word around to family and friend of how unfriendly they were. If they want to attract tourist to a beautiful area then they are going about it the wrong way
