As two couples we stayed here for 3 nights and loved it. The house is perfectly layed out for 2 couples and 4 children. Our first impression on arrival was the warm welcome from Sharon. We had just blown a tyre and she reassured us we could get a replacement in Hawker the next day. The accommodation is modern, spotlessly clean and well equipped. The colour palatte of the rooms is soothing and pleasing with quality linen on beds and practical coloured towels. Although we were mindful of a water shortage in the area the rainwater tanks still provided good shower pressure after a dusty day out on the trails. Lovely local toiletries are provided - lots of nice touches that added to the pleasure of our stay. We met the friendly sheep and beautiful Shadow the kelpie when we went for a wander around the farm. I would highly recommend Flinders Bush retreats to anyone wanting to stay a few minutes from Hawker and a few more from Wilpena Pound - it is a very comfortable, relaxing and easy place to stay.

Our group of four spent 3 nights at the Quarters accommodation at Flinders Bush Retreats in early June. The quarters is actually a very comfortable and modern 4 bedroom house able to sleep 8, with 2 bathrooms, full kitchen, laundry etc.
A perfect location to chill out by the open fire and gaze at the myriad stars in the night sky, after a day of exploring the nearby Flinders Ranges.
Sharon was able to provide sound advice about local attractions and dining options - a great place to stay!

We enjoyed a wonderful week at Mt Scott Homestead. The house is just as described in all of the other 5 star reviews but still manages to exceed expectations. We loved the fire inside and the firepit outside. Freshly baking bread on arrival along with some complimentary local produce was a lovely touch. We spent a relaxing day walking out the back through Willow Waters Gorge (easy 6km each way). On several days we drove to Wilpena (about 40mins each way) for day walks up and down and around Wilpena Pound, along with other places of interest. Other days included drives down to Quorn (good IGA!) and up though Parachilna Gorge to the Prairie Hotel for lunch. I took a box of board games hoping the mobile reception would be insufficient for the kids to be on devices, but the 4G was better than expected (unfortunately!). Sharon was very responsive and easy to deal with. No hesitation in recommending this for a fantastic retreat.

We loved our 3 day stay in the Eco Tent. The facilities were excellent and The Willows Waters Gorge location was secluded and beautiful and the view just stunning. We experienced a variety of weather conditions but the tent was well equipped and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Sharon was an extremely friendly and helpful host.

As a family - grandparents, children, grandchildren, we stayed at The Quarters. It was absolutely perfect, as it would also be for 2 families. There is plenty of room in the house, it is lovely & clean & comfortable. Beds are great & it is lovely to see the sunrise & sunset plus the tranquility only occasionally interrupted with the lovely sound of a "baa"or bird noises.
The playground next to the outside verandah & table is a godsend! We could sit in peace & have a meal while the children were having a fabulous time right next to us, they spend lots of time in the morning & evenings playing on it
The highlight for them was the campfire, toasting marshmallows & cooking damper, plus throwing our food scraps to the chooks
An amazing outback experience with all the comforts!
The hosts, Sharon & Allen, are both so nice & helpful, happy to assist with requests & information

We have stayed several times in the Eco Tent and it never disappoints!
The electric blanket was a welcome addition to the stay, making for a warm and toasty sleep on the very cold nights.
Highly recommend to anyone that wants to switch off from the rest of the busy world.
We cannot wait to return

This is our favourite place to stay in the Flinders Ranges and we have been visiting regularly for the last 25 years. Sharon and Alan are wonderful hosts, their property is always beautifully presented and clean. They take great pride in their station and sharing it with visitors, we can highly recommend Mt Scott Homestead as a place for a family to stay.

Our 2-night glamping experience in this private, peaceful location was mostly as expected. It was freezing cold so the electric blanket was extremely welcome, as was the hot shower. The tent was nicely decorated and we felt very welcome. Would have appreciated some camp chairs to sit around the fire more comfortably and could have used a few more kitchen implements etc but overall a lovely stay.

We wanted to be self-contained in a place that was comfortable and spacious enough to share with another couple. The Quarters was perfect for us. The bedrooms were well spread out and we had 2 separate bathrooms. The kitchen had everything you could think of and we were able to prepare a range of meals. The bbq was large and has been kept very clean ( as was the whole house). I’d recommend you drive down to Willow Waters Gorge, then have a leisurely walk along the gorge. It is very peaceful. If you’re keen on birds then make sure you stop on the way to the gorge and have a look at the roadside scrub. We saw white-winged fairywrens and white-fronted chats, along with 4 species of raptors. Sharon was very easy to communicate with and everything went smoothly. I’ll be recommending to friends.

My family and I stayed at Mt Scott Homestaed for 4 nights in June. The location and surrounding scenery is breathtaking with spectacular sunsets. The homestead is 5 star with everything you need. Luxury in such a remote location is impressive and the extra treats on arrival were a nice touch. If you're looking for a memorable holiday and experience I can highly recommend this place. With so much to explore in the Flinders Ranges we'll be coming back.

Pamela T asked a question Apr 2016
Adelaide, Australia
also is there mobile reception there
Answer from daynabache

Hi Pamela T, we recently stayed at the Flinders Bush Retreats Eco Tent, and it's an amazing place to stay. There is a kettle which you use on the gas burners (all provided) and tea and coffee provisions (BYO Milk). The owners supply a reasonable amount of fire wood, we did take some of our own as we were there for 3 nights, so it depends on how long your stay is. And no, the beautiful part about staying there is there is no mobile phone reception, so you can really wind down and relax. I highly recommend you stay there, it's amazing!
