Everything about Willow Springs reminds us of our camping days in the Flinders Ranges. The next best thing now that we are senior citizens is staying in the Overseers Cottage, having a huge bag of wood delivered daily and enjoying sitting around our own camp fire at night, cooking with camp ovens on the coals under a star studded sky. Heaven! Staff were friendly and helpful when we needed some assistance from the Flying Doctor Service and the Medicine Kit supplied to the owners of the property. The location is ideal, right in the heart of the Flinders Ranges with easy access to the major sights.
We arrived at Willow Springs station and met Carmel, the station owner, who directed us to campsite no. 5., a peaceful spot, the last one up the valley, on a dry creek bed lined with magnificent gum trees and beautiful bush surroundings and even our own toilet. Willow Springs is central to all the surrounding attractions but also has its own 4wd trek with some challenging sections which takes you through the amazing property. The property has a camp kitchen, new hot showers and flushing toilets all situated near the main homestead. Carmel and Michelle and all the staff are lovely people who go out of their way to help you in any way they can. Carmel even got me medication I needed through the flying doctor service. This station has it all, we would definitely return if we travel that way again.…
10/10 for our stay at Willow Springs Station. Friendly staff and amenities extremely clean and well kept. Great proximity to other areas of the Flinders. Lovely walking trails. Highly recommend the drive up Stokes Hill to see the sunset and to Blinman Pub for lunch.
What an amazing experience. We camped here in early October. Cheap rates at $25 a night. We had an isolated campsite about 700m away from the homestead and about 300m from any other campers. Great facilities at the site - park benches and a fixed swivel hot plate over the fire. Near a creek. The camp kitchen near the home stead had new lockup toilets and showers. The kitchen had stoves, gas hot plates, fridge, freezer, powerpoints to charge gadgets, tv with DVDs and free wifi. The staff were amazing and very hospitable. Will definitely be back. Location is also great - so close to Wilpena Pound.
