This motel is a hidden gem. Stayed two nights with a bus group - centrally located, nice room with a view over the Flinders Ranges and superlative food. Unfortunately, I am told that the restaurant is only open to bus groups. Other caveat is that the internet only works in the reception/dining/bar and not in the rooms, so take a good book. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Booked a week out, only over night, got in late but the friendly owner rang me to ensure I knew about the how I could check in. Comfortable bed, close to cafe, pub etc. If you're stopping by Hawker, would definitely recommend this place.
We stayed here for 2 nights while we were in the Flinders. Large, spacious rooms, with a double bed and a single, TV, Aircon, Super comfy bed, nice hot shower, tea and coffee making facilities (with biscuits!) and spotlessly clean. You can walk to the pub for dinner or Flinders Fine Foods for brekkie. We will always stay here when we travel up that way.
Booked this Motel on information displayed on their Website. When we checked in, we found a different set up. Restaurant was not open at all. Breakfast was not available. WiFi was only available when sitting outside close to the Reception. TV reception was very limited - only ABC (not sure if that is the Motel or the Area). Our primary reason was to visit the Flinders Ranges. Hawker offered a central position to do so. The Room was comfortable and clean, no issues at all. Our gripe is simply that the information on the Website did not match the actual offerings. Even the Room Compendium was not updated to reflect the service offerings. Breakfast and eating facilities nearby or within the Motel are important items for our decisions where to stay. Here our expectations where not met. A pity really. …
This was our last stop on our tour of the outback, we had been right up to Cameron Corner and this last stop was luxurious in comparison. Very nice motel, with a bar and beautiful cooked meals with lots of fresh vegetables.
We stayed just one night so we could go to Wilpena Pound. Quiet and comfortable room with everything included although the bed was very firm. Very clean and the owners were helpful and friendly. Not much around was open as it was Easter but it was a great place to stay.
Enjoyed an overnight visit at chapmanton. Lovely little unit, with kitchenette, two bedrooms. Kitchen well :-) :-equipped, very well presented. A pleasant place to stay in Hawker and a great stop before exploring this wonderful part of Australia- the flinders ranges. Gladly recommend :-)
the scene and scenery were breathtaking. esp the mountains. saw many country side places like Blinman and Snow town murders. saw glass mountain and Leigh creek. visited sacred aborigine platform in wilpena pound. roads were great even feeder roads. food was countryside home cooked meals. recommend a visit to flinders ranges to all.
This is a slightly faded 80's/90's motel. The rooms are big and have been done up a bit and quite comfy, mostly with a double and single, but that's about it. Dinner was ordinary. Breakfast ok. The staff were not particularly helpful. There are better places in the area.
We had a couple of nights in the holiday villas which are two bed but we were just a couple. Comfortable, well equipped a little old fashioned nut this is the outback and we were quite happy although at $150 per night they are probably $20 overpriced based on experience elsewhere but the outback is expensive. Price is the same as at Rawnsley Park which is closer to Wilpena Pound and much more outback but you would need to be well supplied. We managed to cook in the villa so did not check out the local pub. Management were very helpful on the phone when we called ahead, and happy to give tourist info when we arrived. Very casual, we left our key in the door of the office when we left as it was closed. Not many options in Hawker, but this is vey civilised but pricey.
