We stayed here for two nights, enjoying the most amazing and special spa retreat and bed and breakfast. The host bends over backwards to make your stay really special. This is the cleanest bed-and-breakfast I have ever stayed in. Nothing seems too much for the host, and you really feel spoiled. He has really thought of everything, for making his guests comfortable. The provisions for breakfast are generous and well thought through. The spa treatments, massages, Yoga, and platters provided all just makes this stay so special. This is the perfect place for a romantic getaway, in the heart of Hahndorff. I will be back for sure and will be recommending the place to family and friends. I would have given 10 stars if it was possible! Btw good, secure off street parking

What a fabulous place to stay. We’ve arrived to very cold weather and we were greeted with big warm smile and friendliness as well as a warm room with plenty of firewood and extra blankets. A delicious supply of fresh fruit and breaky platter along with snacks for tv watching and more than adequate milk, tea and coffee supplies.. everything is thought ahead for you.. If it’s a family trip or a couples stay, this is the place you want to come. Ambiance, comfy, welcoming, clean and a big hearty smile with service - all 5 star.. thank you

5 of us stayed here over the June long weekend. Best value in Hahndorf. Really good place to stay. Excellent facilities. Heaps of firewood. Beautiful gardens- sat outside around the fire pit. Walked to Main Street in 5 minutes. Clean and spacious. Everything was great. Damir met us and made sure we were all set. He’s a fantastic host. Other houses were occupied but it was still private in the front house. Loved the place and will go back. Breakfast and champagne plus snacks all included too.

Nice rooms, very comfortable a d perfect for a romantic get away. Such a shame the owner refused to acknowledge the deals of a free limo winery tour and 90 minute spa session - he claimed he only offered that deal on his own website and not on booking.com where we booked, but that isn't true and we took a screenshot before we came so we will complain to booking.com. Seemed obvious he didn't want to do it and just moaned about the website blaming them and saying we should have booked direct. Forgot he. He'd mentioned the deal on the phone to me completely. Offered to do a tour if we returned and booked through him only - we aren't going back; reneging on deals is poor form it's why we chose the place. Shame.

Response from Hahndorfhouse, Guest Relations Manager at Hahndorf House Bed & Breakfast
Responded 9 July 2016
Hi Kate Firstly thank you for your stay and I'm sorry you are not happy with this promotion deal that we never knew about it Also you only mentioned this two days before your check out I asked you personally if you would like to do the day spa day before your check out and you refused infront of me and your husband saying that you don't feel like day spa You also did show me your booking confirmation which only mentioned your 7 nights stay and special deal of 30% off and never had any promotion about the winery tour or day spa, I'm sorry I was trying to be polite and only offer you this still unknown promotion on your next visit to Hahndorf It would really be helpful if you had written confirmation or even just mentioned on your arrival and this misunderstanding would easily cleared up with one simply call to booing.com Kind Regards Hahndorf House

Hahndorf House is a great secure and gated place to stay when visiting Hahndorf. We visited and stayed for a week with my in laws where between us we have 4 children. Oak Villa and Hahndorf Haus accommodation were perfect for the 4 families and the gated property meant that our children could have full use of the yard to run around and explore without any worry. Damir who owns the property could not have been more accommodating. The breakfast supplies he stocked both houses with were and are absolutely incredible and he has been so helpful with tourist attractions and things to see and do. Could not recommend this place and Damir enough.

I visited Hahndorf house B&B with my work colleagues last weekend as our first team trip. What initially interested us about the place was the classes that are taught on the property (such as yoga, meditation, Pilates, holistic healing etc). When we decided we actually wanted to make a weekend of it the owner, Damir, was always very helpful and attentive with all of my questions and concerns.
When we arrived we were all very surprised at how beautiful the property was. We were staying in a 3 bedroom house which was very clean and spacious and Damir had organised a really amazing spread for breakfast the next two mornings. There was always fresh fruit around the house and the ambiance and atmosphere was very relaxing.
The next morning we went on a wine tour, hosted by Damir. He took us in a beautiful limousine around all of the local wineries, and not once were we ever given a time we had to be back to the car, which was really amazing of him. We were also taken to a chocolate and cheese factory which was unexpected, and was probably the highlight of my day! That night we headed out to dinner, which was an easy find because the B&B is only a 2 minute walk from the main street.
The next day we got up for our day full of classes which were all just as amazing as the other. At lunch time we were served a 3 course vegan lunch. I'm not vegan, or even vegetarian, but the food was to die for! We were all very sad to leave the Hahndorf House, especially when we saw they also have a day spa which looks incredible - definitely coming back for this next time.
Overall what made our experience spectacular was Damir's kindness, helpfulness and assistance throughout the entire trip. I would highly recommend this to any families, couples or friends who are looking at a quaint weekend getaway! 5* all round!

Lovely renovated old house at the back, and nothing missed. Interesting personal decor by owner Damir, who is also a very friendly guy. Close to town, very quiet and comfortable. We all fell asleep on the lounge! Even breakfast left in the fridge

This property consist of three houses set amongst a garden setting, the garden is still a work in progress. It's a gated property which immediately feels secure. Damir is a delightful host and very friendly. Also on offer is wine tours in a limousine and a spa and health retreat that he is still working on. The cottage we stayed in was really comfortable and so well appointed. Chilled champagne and strawberries on the table, chocolates on the bed, the makings of a delicious breakfast in the fridge, firewood, a dvd selection and a great big spa bath. A home away from home. This property would be great for a group of friends travelling together. We will come back.

We stayed for four nights in the 3-bedroom house, which had everything we needed, including amazing breakfast provisions. Damir went out of his way to assist with many needs we had prior to arriving and during our stay, and we were lucky enough to enjoy a winery tour in the stretch limo which made our stay that extra bit special. I would definitely recommend this accommodation as the perfect place for a romantic getaway, or even a family visit (as there are 3 separate accommodation buildings on site, so plenty of room for everyone). The location is a 1-minute walk from the main street with restaurants and quaint shops, but is quiet enough that you can sleep in and really relax. We will definitely stay again if we are in Hahndorf. Thanks, Damir :) (A&B).

It depends what else you are doing on your holiday. If you are travelling on to other places you'll find a hire car the easiest option as there's not a lot of public transport once you get outside Adelaide city. It's cheaper to pick up a hire car in the city than from the airport so I'd suggest taking a bus transfer from the airport first if you choose to do this. If you are just going to the Adelaide Hills and plan on wine tasting you don't want a car as they police drink driving very well in this area. The owner of Hahndorf House, Damir, could arrange transfers from the airport and to wineries for you using his own chauffeur driving vehicle at a cost (you'd need to email him to check on costs, times, availability). You could take a taxi which would be expensive as it's probably a 45min trip or you take a bus from the airport (J1) and a connecting bus to Hahndorf (864F) which would be a lot cheaper but takes about 95 minutes. Look up the Adelaide Metro website if you want to check out this option. It seems a long way to go for just 2 days in the Adelaide Hills but if that's what you're doing I'd go for a quick option (ie taxi or Damir's transfer) as it will maximise the time you have available to see the area.
