The Lodge is in a really excellent location for a stay in Hahndorf, set back off the main street behind the Hahndorf Inn. The place has a kind of classic motel feel to it, informal with a spacious, comfortable, well equipped room that could do with some updating, particularly the bathroom. We were not bothered by this, considering it as character and would definitely be happy to stay here again on a future visit.

We found the Lodge room ok for a night but it was a bit basic and really could do with updating. We encountered some issues with noise through the walls but not enough of an issue to be a real problem. On the plus side there’s free parking and the location was great for exploring Hahndorf and all the bars were within easy walking distance.

We were given the room next to the pool gate. After it slammed for the 10th time on the afternoon of our arrival, we visited reception and asked to be moved. (We had booked for 3 nights.) We couldn’t be moved that day but the lovely receptionist arranged a different room for the following nights. The second room was much quieter but none of the rooms are soundproof. I would give the second room a higher rating than the first. The motel is tired and desperately needs an update. The first room had torn curtains, a wonky chair and a slater bug doing the rounds.

I found this place to be delightful and the host lovely and accommodating. The dated decor people have banged on about didn’t phase me at all - it was part of the charm and character of the place. It was clean, spacious, contained all that you needed and the bed was super comfortable. It was lovely to be in the heart of the village and I enjoyed the quiet stroll through it all at night with all the lights creating a special atmosphere

No Hot Water from shower tap and basin tap, I think it was finished by other rooms. Two times shower with just cold water came put from the shower, in both of our rooms.
No Staff attend. Air Conditioning very noisy in one of our rooms.
Rooms dusty.

I liked the situation of The Lodge sitting back off the Main Street. Room was a twin and was clean and adequate; powerful shower. However we could hear neighbours in adjoining rooms, the tvs and one morning even smelt toast which had been burnt. Although walls were brick, there was presumably no good insulation under the roofs.

I've rated this motel 2 stars. One for the location right near the main Street and one for the comfy bed. Everything else was disappointing. From the woman at check in who ignored me and kept looking at her screen when I arrive to the thin walls ( ill fitting interconnecting doors) where our neighbours kept us awake with their noise until 1am,the mould around bottom of the shower in a small very dated room that needs an urgent renovation. We were lucky that we didn't need to spend too much time there.

The location was good, right in the middle of Hahndorf but the hotel was very old, dated and rundown. The hotel rooms were brick walls and beige and dark brown furniture. The carpet had iron burns on it and the bathroom tiles were cracked, chipped and broken. The shower is over the bath which was grimy and hasn’t been cleaned for a long time, you could feel the build up and if you rubbed it it came off. Gross! The rest of the room was clean. The concreting around the pool was so crumbling you couldn’t walk on it without something on your feet. The staff were helpful and friendly.

This spacious comfortable motel has a lovely setting,though it can be tricky to find tucked back off the street better signage would help to find it. Having said that it's a lovely place clean and quiet comfy firm bed and the staff were delightful and couldn't do enough to help. Would happily go back for another stay.Oh and it's well located to walk to everything.

Room was clean enough. A bit noisy as can hear TV next door. The bed was comfortable but bathroom in need of a renovation. At least cube the rotted vanity. No body wash supplied and towels small and not very soft.

The swimming pool at the Hahndorf Motor Lodge is solar-heated.
So if we have a number of warm, sunny days in a row, the pool will be perfect for swimming in September.
