Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My husband and I had a lovely, relaxing weekend stay at this charming treasure hidden away in what felt like an enchanted forest.
Everything we needed was here & we loved feeding the birds out on the deck.
Great area to shop in too.
All in all, a lovely place to stay & be refreshed.

Stunning.
The Cottage is lovely with everything you could ask for and Vanessa only a call away the host gives you total privacy,
The Birds coming down to feed from the bird feeders hanging in the Trees host leaves you a bowl of seeds to top feeders up if you wish this property is stunning and laying in that bath looking out at nature was so relaxing.
We did not leave the property for 3 days we wanted to be away from the rest of the busy world and thats what you will find here a oasis of Natural Beauty. There are 5 or 6 wide steps before reaching the walkway to cottage my husband on walker took it slow and used handrail and we had no problem after that its quite flat going.Host left Bacon,Eggs,Bread,Mushrooms/tomato,Cereals,Milk and Juice.even a box of chocolates.
Thank you Vanessa for opening up your little slice of heaven to others you have given my husband and I such beautiful memories ,Bless You.

Fantastic place to getaway & relax.
Very clean & comfortable.
Beauty comfy chairs inside & out, lovely for sitting by the creek watching the parrots etc.
Top quality local fresh produce left for breakfasts, fresh juice, & local crusty bread.
The owner had the fire roaring in our arrival.
Will definitely be back🍷🌷

We loved our time at this stunning place! It is located in such a peaceful, scenic setting overlooking the Aldgate Creek. The wood heater was burning when we arrived, so the cottage was lovely and warm. The outdoor bath is amazing (even on chilly nights) and we enjoyed sitting on the deck relaxing and just watching the birds and possums come and go. We could get quite close to them at times too. We enjoyed a cooked breakfast each morning as plentiful supplies were left for us to cook ourselves. It rained while we were there, so it was interesting to see the creek flow higher and faster than when we arrived. We loved wandering through the gardens and finding hidden and interesting objects. It was the perfect place to relax and unwind and we wish we could have stayed longer. We hope to return again one day.

This is our second 2 night stay at this beautiful, secluded cottage.
We were so excited to see that an outdoor bath had been added since our last visit.
That is where I spent a whole afternoon! This has been tastefully done & it feels as though you are part of a tropical rain forest.
Everything about this place screams tranquillity, serenity, relaxation & nurture.
Vanessa is the best kind of host. Attentive to detail but not intrusive.
I like to try out different places but this is becoming a home from home & I am sure we will visit again.

What a cute little cottage, nestled alongside a creek and hidden amongst lush trees. The covered deck makes full use of the setting, and I recommend making some time to enjoy it relaxing on the rocking chairs... Quite a bit of time, it is really nice. The location is very quiet, with few houses nearby. The owner is very welcoming and gives plenty of space. The house is lovely and amply spacious for a couple, with a lounge-kitchen room separate from the bedroom. There is a fireplace in the lounge which would have been lovely to use but the weather was too warm! Breakfast was good, cook it yourself, and cereal options.

Wow, we loved this gorgeous, charming cottage. As we walked in over a small wooden bridge we were greeted by Polly the cat who was totally adorable. The cottage itself is beautifully furnished and decorated to a high standard. There is a small kitchenette that has everything you need to cook up something great, including a hotplate, microwave and weber bbq on the deck. We loved just sitting outside with a glass of wine/cup of tea and truly relaxing with the stream beneath us and the ever present Polly to stroke. We would love to stay here again. Also, the artisan bread was amazing - it was a potato and rosemary (a combination i have never had before) but was sensational! Thanks again,

Response from Deni B, Owner at Aldgate Valley Bed and Breakfast
Responded 7 May 2015
Thanks for your kind words. Yes Polly was a treasure of a cat. She would wait at the top gate for guests, see them down the pathway to the cottage and show them around. She was 17 years old and unfortunately passed away a couple of weeks ago. She is sadly missed by our family and guests that have returned numerous times and got to know her. Very glad you enjoyed your stay. Kind regards Deni.

Opening a small white gate, a garden path leads you to a short wooden bridge ending at the deck of a small cottage, beautifully furnished in retro decor. The kitchen is well equipped with hotplate and grill for indoor cooking, a weber grill on the deck is great for outdoor cooking. We enjoyed breakfast on the deck in the mornings using the generous breakfast provisions of eggs, bacon, juice, milk, bread and cereal.

Comfy bed with electric blanket for chilly nights. Didn't get to use the wood fire as it wasn't cold enough. Loved the fluffy bathrobes.

Large collection of DVD movies to watch. Only peeve is no wifi.

Visits by the resident cockatoo Scratch, the cat Polly and the dog Daisy made our visit complete.

Deni is a lovely host, we arrived very early and left our luggage as the room was still being cleaned. When we came back, she had helped us to unpack our groceries and moved our luggage into the bedroom. I enjoyed reading the folders of useful information she prepared on nearby places to eat. Clearly an avid gardener, she has created a wonderful garden, full of roses, and vegetables and herbs.

Nearest supermarkets are the Woolworths at Stirling and Coles at Bridgewater.
