Detailed Reviews
We stayed at the Curtain Fig Motel for three nights on our road trip to Far North QLD. It is in a great location to access all the attractions that the Tablelands has to offer. The motel is only a couple of mins walk from eating venues in Yungaburra.
The hosts Jane and Mark are very accommodating and friendly, Jane likes to cook so breakfast is on offer for $10 per person and will also offer to cook you a roast meal as well if you like. Fresh scones with jam was also offered to us upon arrival.
We had the spa room which has a nice area out the front to sit at and is seperate from all the other rooms.
The motel is pet friendly, the hosts have a Brussels Griffon that will come and say hi. It has a pool, WiFi worked well, bed was comfy, they are licenced so you can buy beer & wine from them. No netflix just free to air, but you can choose a DVD to watch from their very large collection.
Open air car parking is provided at the back of the motel, if you have a long vehicle you will have to do a bit of maneuvering to park your car as it's a little tight especially if there are a few cars already parked, but there is also plenty of off street parking right out the front as well.
The motel itself is not new, so is a bit dated. For our purpose of just needing a well priced place to sleep while we were out sightseeing the Tablelands all day the Curtain Fig Motel suited as well.

My husband Noel and I are from Wonga Beach which is appoximately 2 hours from Yungaburra. We decided to travel up to the tablelands for the Queens Birthday longweekend for something different. We normally go to Cairns. We were so glad we did. The hosts were lovely friendly people who welcomed us with open arms. We stayed in the Spa Queen suite which was very roomy and comfortable. The Spa was sensational. It has been along time since we have had a spa bath. Our dinner was served at our room and we sat out on the patio overlooking the pool to eat it. Meal was excellent and we even got a yummy desert to follow. In the morning we were served once again at our room with a delicious brekky and juice. We felt like royalty. We would recommend Curtain Fig Motel to any traveller who wants a good old home cooked meal and comfy and clean facilities to stay in. Well done Curtain Fig Tree Motel. Keep up the good work and we will see you next time we come up to the beautiful one day, gorgeous the next Atherton Tableland.

On arrival very welcoming and warm, towards us and our furry child. Scones with jam and cream on arrival, order breakfast both mornings, fresh home baked bread, yum,
well presented bacon and eggs, reasonably priced. Pool enjoyable, not overly chloride. Don't be fooled by the shower head,(it's powerful) Good shower.

Stayed with friends at this lovely small country motel in Yungaburra for 7 nights. Run by Jane and Mark who were friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble.
Large air conditioned rooms with a Queen and single bed, on site parking and a small swimming pool. Equipped with a bar fridge, microwave, toaster and kettle.
A real bonus was the opportunity to have one of Jane’s home cooked dinners for $20 delivered to the tables on the patio outside your room. Jane is a fabulous cook and these great value meals were a real treat. You can make a request or she will let you know what dish she has planned for the evening.
We would certainly stay here again as the price of the stay is excellent value.

Unfortunately we did not enjoy our stay at The Curtain Fig motel, the room was not clean, the linen was stained and dirty, pillows smelt like urine. There was mould all over the bathroom ceiling, and shower curtain, fan looks like it hasn't ever been cleaned. We booked for 3 adults and when we got to the room there was only 2 towels (they did bring us another one). The kettle in the room need replacing as the plastic on the kettle is brown and stained and chipping away.
Needs a lot of maintenance both in the room and outside as there is a lot of rubbish and just general stuff laying around everywhere, chemicals and poisons out on shelves that children could easily grab.

I stayed at this terrific little lodge for three nights. The owners are great – Jane is a gourmet-standard cook and Mark a fine conversationalist. Dinner is not in a formal restaurant but sitting around a table in the back garden. Very relaxed and friendly. Curtain Fig Motel is reasonably priced and the rooms are simple but clean and quite spacious. There are several other advantages over other places, including having a licensed bar and swimming pool, and allowing pets. It's close to all the main attractions on the Atherton Tablelands. Highly recommended.

My wife & I really enjoyed our stay at the Curtain Fig Motel. The owners, Jane & Mark, were really helpful gave us some tips on the local food outlets, places to maybe see a platypus, Jane cooked us a really tasty curry one evening and our suite was great. Keep it up!!!

Amazing motel in a beautiful village. Very high standards from the minute I rang reception to book the room to when I departed the next day. Jane is so lovely and caring about her guests, she even knocked on my door and served a yummy freshly baked scone with jam and cream. Which went well with the freshly brewed coffee I made with the coffee maker in the room. What a welcome! The room was excellent and clean, I highly recommend this beautiful motel and wonderfull staff.

Now have 2 small dogs since our son left for England over a year ago. However we were able to have a lovely weekend at Yungaburra by staying at the Curtian Fig Motel which is pet friendly and welcoming. Lovely homemade scones for afternoon tea and close to everything. Would highly recommend to anyone who wants to go to the Tablelands with their pets and feel at home.

Yunguburra is a gem in the Tablelands and the Curtain Fig is the place to stay. Mark and Karen are incredibly welcoming (waiting for another wonderful home cooked meal, Mark arranged a warm coat while waiting for dinner on the porch). Oscar makes you feel a part of the pack. Can't believe im here for work and can't wait to be back.
