#4 of 5 B&Bs / Inns in Yungaburra
The Yungaburra Hotel is the pride of the Atherton Tablelands, attracting visitors with its Federation architecture and displays of historic photographs of the area's early saw milling days. The hotel was built in 1910 with the coming of the railway, and immediately became the hub of the region. Visitors marvel at the timber facade and interior. Cedar and oak are everywhere around the hotel. The local timbers make an attractive and durable structure. No cyclone could ever harm the Yungaburra Hotel. The art deco extension to the hotel, built in the early twenties, is just as beautiful as the earlier section. The hotel boasts 30 rooms, two bars, one of the Tablelands busiest restaurants, private function rooms, and an enchanting garden. The hotel is especially popular with families and couples who come up from the coast for a night or more to cool down and relax. At 720m above sea level, the climate is mild and refreshing.

We visited on a Saturday lunch time. The building is impressive and steeped in local history. The Ballroom is beautiful, I wish I could have seen it in it’s hey day! Portions were massive and we took our leftover pizza home :)

friendly staff and cold beer, plenty of options with the drinks and they also have a very well priced lunch and dinner menu, I think there are plenty of options food wise even for kids. we sat outside and the little town was very clean and lots of nice hanging baskets of flowers. spring at it best.

Be Careful backpackers! Scammers! This place is not a good choice if you are looking for job in the farms around Tablelands. They charge you 160/190$ for week, for a share room, most of them without toilet, and with really poor higenic conditions. Included in this price "Nothing", no wifi, no free Landry, and they are gonna make you clean the kitchen, and if you don't want, they take you the bond. About the bond: when you arrive they told you that is not necessary to tell them one week in advance to keep the bond. Liars! They don't give it you back. Also they told that in the price is included a minibus every weekday to Atherton, for shopping. Also fake! They only bring you there when they want. Also that try to scare the backpackers saying that of you left the hotel, you are gonna lose you job. FALSE! We speak with that supervisors in the farm, and that is not true at all. They just try to keep the people there to still keeping the money. Really! Be careful with this place!
