We stayed for 3 nights. The retreat and cabin experience was everything we had hoped for and more! The staff are lovely and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. We stayed in Rose Tamarind cottage and it was perfect. The food provisions were exceptional including fresh fruit, scones with jam and cream on arrival, fresh pumpkin bread, biscuits, port and chocolates. The furnishings are beautiful with lovely linens and special touches that had to the experience. The grounds are beautiful and the walk to the top of the crater is so worth the effort. The walking path is mowed and wide which provides for a safe and enjoyable walk to the top. The wildlife was abundant around our cottage which we enjoyed watching from the deck. The surrounding area has lots to see if you want to explore by car. The retreat is a must stay, well worth the money and one to tick off your bucket list.

We were lucky enough to stay at Kamala, one of the beautiful treehouses at Mt Quincan Crater Retreat for three nights. We arrived to a beautifully equipped treehouse with homemade bread, scones and everything we could possibly need for breakfast over the next three days. It was a peaceful spot teaming with wildlife. We saw tree kangaroos, bush turkeys and plenty of beautiful birds. In September it was even cold enough to put the log fire on. The only thing that would have improved our stay is a new mattress on the bed. The bed looked fantastic, with lovely sheets and doona etc but unfortunately it was well worn. We are both smaller framed people but still sank in the bed and had little support. When you spend 7-8 hours in a bed each night it’s definitely important to have a fabulous night sleep, even more so when on holidays. I hope the owners and managers can take this feedback on board to improve your time at Mt Quincan Crater Retreat.

The retreat is well worth the visit. Fabulous staff and everything from booking to departure was very well handled. The treehouses are great such a wonderful experience. The options to cook yourself in the cabin are fine or to go out to one of the local restaurants. Make sure you walk up to the top of the crater in the evening at sunset for the amazing 360 views across the area. Just fabulous to sit in the evening with no noise and the log fire blazing.
