Detailed Reviews
Our family of 5 adults stayed in 2 cottages for 4 nights. The cottages are a great place to stay and an easy walk to all that Yungaburra has to offer. The cottages have all that you need & are very spacious. The surrounding gardens are beautiful & relaxing. Thanks to our host Melanie who was most helpful & accomodating with booking & our stay.

Fabulous spot, very helpful hosts, and great cabins. The happy hour wasnt on because of covid restrictions, but that didnt matter, the pub Is a small walk up the road! Just loved having a fire place in the cabin, kitchenette was well equipped and a lovely deck to sit and enjoy a wine. The grounds are beautiful. We will be back!

We stayed at this delightful collection of cottages during the summer in 2003. the owners and hosts Janet and Keith Mole were fantastic and made us feel really welcome. Each of the five or six cottages are tastefully furnished and offer all the creature comforts you would expect from a luxury hideaway and more. The bathrooms deserve a special mention with the fabolous jaquzzi bath and divine goodies! the traditional fire in the lounge is pretty cool too! Also dont forget to order one of Janet Moles amazing packed lunches and go on a picnic in the stunning countryside. I was also particularly impressed with the fresh eggs delivered daily to our door along with homemade bread, marmalade and a carafe of fresh milk! Since this trip we have stayed at many luxury resorts around the world but for originality and those special holiday memories, you wont find any where better than the allumbah pocket cottages. ten out of ten!

Stayed here 25 - 27 July on 3 week trip in Queensland. Yungaburra is really pretty, with lots of artistic shops and places to eat. I really enjoyed it here but was beginning to miss the beach. The cottages were very good, clean and well furnished. We self catered so that saved us a little money. would stay again if we came again. It is only a short drive from Cairns so you could come and stay one night if you are pushed for time.

We came back to stay after a great visit in Winter. When we entered the cottage we were met by a horrid smell and found the rubbish bin full. No extra bags anywhere so we improvised. First thing we did was have a spa bath and once submerged we couldn't help notice the vomit stains around the outside of the toilet. My husband got down on his knees to scrub them off and he noted the walls on the outside of the shower were grimy with finger marks and god knows what else. When we turned on the spa a swarm of ants appeared in all the holes that were in the silicon around the bath. I'm sure a culture swab would show some horrors lurking. I went to use a tumbler only to find a massive crack in it so put it in the rubbish as well. The clock in the kitchen was 2 inches thick with dust and all in all the standard of cleanliness was shocking. The floors felt like they had not had a good clean with hot water in a long time. C'mon... get your act together Allumbah. We thought we would receive a breakfast basket as before was told that this had been stopped but they had lowered the tariff. Funny, I checked back in my accounts and saw we paid the same in Winter. This is now off our list of places to stay.

What a terrible review. Can hardly believe it. I do wish you had fronted reception and asked us to come and look at the state of the cottage when you moved in, as all I can say is we find it incredulous... horrible smell, vomit round toilet? full bin? dirty shower, dust, cracked glass... its a nightmare. I honestly don't know how to respond except to ask guests (as we do on our information sheet in each cottage) to let us know immediately if there are any problems to give us an opportunity to rectify; and don't leave without a word, just to enter this sort of write up on Trip Advisor . Its now your word against ours. I wonder even if you slept in someone else's cottage. Rob would never leave the cottage in that state, we did have temporary managers when we went to Japan... was it over that time? Secondly, if you paid $135 and got a breakie hamper on your previous visit then I gave you a special deal. We used to charge $150 for the B&B deal. We found many people left the continental hamper in favour of a cooked breakie down the road, so given we now have a cafe on site, we went down to $139 and offer breakfast for $5 in the cafe (or guests can take it to the cottage). So it works out as cheap but gives people a choice. I do wonder about people. I would'nt have checked into something apparently so abhorent, not said a word, and left with a smile on my face... only to write up something like this... do you not have any sensitivity at all? Glad we are off your list.

This property holds itself out as a Bed & Breakfast. The website proudly proclaims that but it is not the case. The breakfast part is a $5 tack on represented by a cup of coffee of tea at the adjacent bric a brac shop with a piece of sweet cake or bun or loaf etc. The cottages are well appointed, clean and the linen is superb but the accommodation stumbles as the shower is a travesty......the water presents as a dribble. If I chose to be a B & B operator I would ensure the all clocks provided actually worked. It is not a good look to arrive and be presented with a wall clock that is petrified in time.

Hi Peter, your review is disappointing and mirepresenting. We deliberately do not charge for breakie unless guests want it, and our price for a stay reflects that. The $5 we ask is a fraction of the cost of what the breakie is worth, offerring skybury coffee, organic boutique tea, mungalli milk, gf banana and date meusli with organic honey youghurt, raisen or toasted bread with local condiments, potato and leek quiches and croissants with fruit to go just to name a few things on the menu. The average breakie purchased includes a bushie bite quiche, meusli and 2 coffees - (its free top ups) - in any other environment that would cost a person at least $28. It is provided at the onsite Milly Molly Mandy Providence Cafe and Gift Shop, which is part of the business - it certainly doesnt fall into the category of a bric brac shop - thats most insulting, it is boutique and specifically stocked with things to please our guests. We offer hampers but we find nearly everyone prefers to come to the cafe so the coffee is hot, breakie is served and they have the company of other guests. The broken clock we presume is the 1901 clock which was my grandfathers. As we are heritage themed it suits the cottage but agree it is not functional. Never intended it to be. Thirdly, we recently upgraded the water systems, we are at a loss to reply to the comment that the shower had no pressure, had you mentioned it to someone on site we could have checked it out immediately to see if there was a problem. All we can say is those that followed you have not complained. You failed to mention the ambience of the environment, the free wine and nibbles, outdoor jacuzzi or fridge stocked with sauces and other bbq necessities should guests want to use them. No Peter, you are free to write whatever you choose but this review is unfair we hope that my response goes someway to repairing the damage you caused.

Our cosy and comfortable cottage, well equipped and spotlessly clean, was the perfect place for a relaxing stay in Yungaburra. A stone's throw from restaurants, coffee-shops and the tourist info centre. We were made to feel most welcome by Melanie and Rob and felt totally at home there An aspect we really enjoyed was the offer of wine and nibblies in the outdoor lounge each evening. It was fun meeting fellow-travellers, exchanging information and sharing experiences. Thanks too to Shane and Brenda who were such excellent hosts.

So much choice for accommodation in Yungaburra, but I don't think you could do much better than these lovely cottages. Our hosts Rob and Melanie were so thoughtful in all that was provided for our stay of 2 nights. They joined the guests for happy hour on Saturday night, in the lovely outdoor lounge area, but as we were the only ones who took advantage on that evening, we were able to enjoy a good chat with them before we headed out to dinner. The cottage was very comfortable, and I am sure that in July and August when it is cold, and with the wood provided, it would be just great to stay in and enjoy of the fire. The provisions in the good sized bathroom are just perfect. The garden is well tended by Rob, with beautiful tropical plants creating a cool comfortable area to sit and relax. We will be back to enjoy all that Allumbah has to offer. Thank you heaps Rob and Melanie.

Terrific hosts who are justifiably proud of their establishment. Immaculate cottages, grounds and facilities. First on our list of places to stay on the Tablelands. Located in the heart of Yungaburra within walking distance to everything in town.
