Detailed Reviews
We made a booking at a mission beach resort, their eftpos wasn’t working so we were told to pay on arrival. We travelled from Townsville with two young children only to find on our arrival they did not book us in. The only accommodation available was Tully Motel and at 8pm they took us in, even arranged an extra bed as they only had a room for 3 left. The beds were super comfortable, rooms clean and new bathroom. Very happy with the price and service.

Our stay at the Tully Motel was delightful. Tully is a small town, and this motel is perfect for an overnight or extended stay. The rooms are basic but have all the necessities, are comfortable, and are reasonably priced. Located away from the highway, it's wonderfully quiet. We were delighted with our clean room and the amazingly comfortable bed—the best night of sleep we've had in months. The bathroom was immaculate, with excellent water pressure. Pat, the owner, takes hospitality seriously, and the staff was gracious, friendly, and accommodating. They really went the extra mile to help us out of a jam and ensure we were comfortably set up. Though the restaurant was closed during our weekend stay, we've heard great things about it. Highly recommend this motel if you're in the area!

We enjoyed our over night stay here as it was quiet, and the room was clean and comfortable. The staff were good and the price was okay, but Tully has limited options so we took what was available. Close to some food options too.

Shocking ! Rooms are what i can only describe as PRISON CELL like. Has a 1970's look that needs updating, Bed linin stunk of stale beer The other guessed were trades men who have no respect for other guests and use 4 letter expletives. I travel to north Queensland a lot and would sleep in my car then stay here !!!!

Responded 30 June 2012
Dear unknown guest, Sorry to hear you did not appreciate your stay with us...As you are not stating clearly your name or the type of room you had, it makes it even more difficult to respond. Consequently, we assumed you had the cheapest category of rooms out of our 4 categories...Now, each our room has at least a window that measures 120 x120, plasma tv screen, coffee & tea facilities, internet accesand min fridge...Concerning other people behaviour, the reception is opened late enough to come and see us to refer the matter so we can interfere. It is also regrettable you did not come to us and discuss your dissatisfaction as we never leave a guest unhappy....we would have moved you to a higher category of rooms...but we do understand each guest has his expectations and his taste..next time try our most expensive room and you will not be disappointed.....

I am always travelling up to Tully for work and always stay at the Tully Motel. The rooms are clean, basic but are comfortable. The meals at the restaurant have always been nice and the service is wonderful. The owners are really friendly and I will continue staying here whenever I end up in Tully.

We stayed at the Tully Motel for one night while on a road trip in Far North Queensland. We selected the property purely for location. Hotel staff were helpful and accommodating with our late arrival time, and we were pleasantly impressed with the room when we arrived. We stayed in deluxe room, which included a double bed, a table for dining, and a refrigerator/hotpot. The room was spotlessly clean. The bed was basic, but surprisingly comfortable. The staff was helpful and friendly. The location was quiet. For a basic accommodation, this property exceeded our expectations.

The first time I stayed here was over 10 years ago, since then I have tried a few times, but they were always fully booked. This time I stayed 3 nights. One night, then two nights about a week later. The rooms were comfortable, the restaurant food was as outstanding as it was years ago. Three meals, and I could not finish any of them. Excellent full plate, and the best food, a great menu. My friend and I tried 6 different meals, all were outstanding ! The lamb shanks were my favorite. All this was backed up with excellent, friendly service.

Due to weather issues, I stayed at the Tully Motel for several nights. They offer different tiers of rooms, from the "budget rooms" that share bathroom and shower facilities, to rooms with private bathrooms, to suites.
I stayed in a budget room for part of my stay, and a standard room for part of the stay. The place is kept clean, the staff is friendly and helpful.
The attached restaurant was closed when I was there, but they still offered breakfast delivered to your room, for a fee.

I stayed here for one night, for work, and was pleasantly surprised. The bathroom, shower only, had plenty of room to move. The bedroom was a good size, double and single bed, and had aircon and a ceiling fan, and screens on the window. All rooms were at ground level.
If noise bothers you, the railway line is just across the Highway. For me, though, it wasn't a problem.
The menu, for Plantations Restaurant, was very well thought out, with gluten free options for mains and desserts. I had room service, and the meal was faultless. I had proscuitto and sage chicken with a walnut, fennel and apple salad, and the flourless chocolate cake. It was superb.
I will very definitely stay here again - it is one of the best country motels I have stayed in.
