Nestled by a scenic river, Country Style Holiday Park is often praised for its stunning views and ideal location for both wine enthusiasts and dog owners. The cleanliness of the park, including its camp kitchen and other facilities, consistently earns high marks from guests.
While the amenities like fire pits and tranquil river sites provide a serene setting, the service receives mixed reviews, with some guests noting challenges with staff interactions. However, the overall value is widely recognized, with many visitors appreciating the reasonable rates for the quality and location offered.

We extended our stay because it is a very restful caravan park even tho it's close to the highway. The amenities are clean and we had no probs paying 40 cents for a 5 minute shower when we know that Stanthorpe has been in drought and is DESPERATE for rain. The caravan park is an easy driving distance to Girraween NP, Sundown NP, Glen Aplin and the town of Stanthorpe which we enjoy very much. Thank you Kim & Jamaine for a great stay.

A lovely campground on the southern side of Stanthorpe, not too far from Girraween NP. They don't jam pack everyone in, which is really refreshing, as it means the individual campsites have plenty of room to spread out.
We camped in a tent and were able to park our vehicle right beside our site. The toilet and bathroom facilities were extremely clean and were cleaned throughout the day and topped up with toilet paper. The showers were hot and took a .20c coin for four minutes, so very reasonable. There's a lake at the back of the camp site with a wall that allowed you to walk across to the other side (great for kids). The owners gave us a brazier to loan for free for our stay, which was very welcoming as we were there on a very cold period, down to zero overnight. So the fire pit was very welcoming each evening. We were close to lots of wineries, gourmet food places includes Jam Works and we highly recommend Suttons for Apple Pie (other side of Stanthorpe) and the Christmas Farm too is a good visit if you have children as they have well looked after farm animals. A little gem near Girraween NP is Heavenly Chocolates, which sells home made chocolates in a beautiful garden setting. Recommend the hikes to the Pyramid and the Castle, however there are lots of hikes in this beautiful area.

Absolutely lovely spot. We set up down by the rivers edge with plenty of space and peace and quiet. Nice clean facilities. Hot shower is 40c for 5 minutes which is supplied as part of the fees...anything longer than 5 minutes take some coins in with you.

I feel it’s important to give a balanced and honest review of our experience. Kim and Jamaine are friendly hosts. They were happy to book our visit three times after illness and lockdown required us to cancel twice. They also offered to refund our deposit when I wasn’t ready to rebook after the 2nd cancellation.
Pros: our cabin was clean and cosy and had all the basics needed for a weekend trip (and chocolates in the fridge). The park was clean and pretty. It’s a simple set up, everything you need but you won’t find pools or kids playgrounds here.... which isn’t a problem because you are out exploring anyway. The kids will enjoy exploring the river bank while at the park. You can purchase firewood for campfire or fireplace. The location is handy, right on the highway and easy access towards Town and everything on either side.
Cons: efforts at sustainable practice always mean a little compromise. The drinking water, while totally safe, does taste strongly treated, so if you are precious about that I suggest bringing your own or boiling the water to dull down the taste. Our friend was camping in a tent along the river, the location was pretty, I would however request to be placed on the other side to, what I think was a sewerage treatment facility, when the wind blows the smell was strong.
For a simple, laid back trip it’s definitely worth it!

Response from Jamaine Thorburn, Owner at Country Style Holiday Park
Responded 27 May 2021
Good morning Chrissy. I have only just found my Tripadvisor reviews. I am sorry my answer is so late. thank you for giving us such a well informed review. Your effort is commendable. Just to let you know our drinking water comes from the river and it is processed to drinking standard. We sometimes get a slight tannin colour, since getting some rain and the river being well flushed it is now much better. Yes, we do have a sewerage plant as we are not connected to the town. We only occasionally get the smell but we hope that we have combated that with some extra good nutrient to eat the odour causing bacteria. Once again I thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Jamaine & Kim

My wife and I camped at the Country Style Caravan Park for three nights while exploring the fascinating and picturesque Southern Downs Granite Belt Region of Queensland.
We found the amenities to be very clean and well serviced, the couple who run the grounds were friendly and very welcoming and helpful.
The park has powered and unpowered sites which are all close to amenities and well maintained. At the rear of the site the weir is very pretty and filled with water birds of many species.
Pricing is competitive and reasonable.
The park is a little remote situated alongside the New England Highway a short drive from Stanthorpe so you need to drive or bike to any other locations but quite good for that reason if you want to get out of towns a bit.

Ben and Narelle were the perfect hosts. The cabins were spotless with additional benefits like an electric fire and electric blanket. We were a large group and had 6 cabins in a row with a shared outdoor area adjoined with a fire place. We loved it. The lake is beautiful and comes with its own mini waterfall. There is wine tasting across the road. We had the perfect weekend and will definitely be back.

Exceptionally friendly hosts Jemaine & Kim, facilities were so clean and no close neighbours. Loved the tranquility of the place and the gorgeous riverfront site, could not beat the view, feels like you are really in the Australian outback, plenty of wildlife to watch while you are sitting round the campfire. Stanthorpe 5 mins drive and location was very close to all that Stanthorpe and the Granite Belt have to offer. Would definitely book this place again. 5 stars for this caravan park.

It’s a top place beautiful surrounds. The mail manager was not friendly the bottom block of showers were only warm I reported it and it was fixed straight away and he grumpily said we can’t know if no one tells us! He could have thanked me for reporting it as we had three nights of warm showers.
Also we had around $100 worth of food and containers in the lower kitchen fridges, we came home on Sunday to cook our food and found all the fridges were empty. I went to reception and found that staff were instructed to empty them as the pikers had finished . They reimburse us only $50 .
They should have sent out a text to all those staying in the park that if you have anything in the fridges please clear it out as we are turning those off.
The grass needed mowing around the caravan sights.
It was beautifully groomed around the cabins up top and camp spots around the river.
We love the park but management needs improving.

The unit was very comfortable and had everything we needed including a gas fireplace which was very welcome. The staff are very friendly and promptly replaced the faulty bulb. We also had a look at the caravan sites which were located on the side of the creek with a great community kitchen. A great place just outside if Stanthorpe.

This is our second time staying and our cabin is always very clean and well thought out. Firewood is provided for daily and there is more than enough bedding to keep you warm in winter. Staff are super friendly and accommodating. We will be staying again. Thankyou!! Pats to Mini the super dog :)
